🌞Summer is finally here (well sort of) and also the latest edition of our Newsletter!🌞

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part in and supported the Niall Mac Giolla BhrĂde Festival over the weekend. It was fantastic to see our community come together to celebrate local culture, heritage and creativity.

We were also delighted to host registrations and refreshments for the MFP 5K - another successful event in aid of St Michaels Minor Board - it was lovely to see so many participants, well done to the organisers & all who took part.

Around the village, we're continuing to make improvements. The works on the Corner of the Garden steps have now been completed, however village regeneration works are ongoing.

This summer, we're excited to welcome two youth organisations who will be running weekly drop-in sessions for young people aged 10–13. We look forward to seeing our younger community members make new friends, learn new skills and enjoy the space throughout the holidays.

A special congratulations to the 6th Class students of Scoil Mhuire, whose performance of Revolting Children was truly unforgettable. Their talent and confidence lit up the stage and made everyone so proud.

While some of our regular classes and workshops will begin to wind down for the summer as people head off on holidays and enjoy a well-earned break, the work doesn't stop behind the scenes. We're already planning for the year ahead, including an exciting new chapter for the CCA, and we look forward to sharing more news on that soon.

Festival planning is also gathering pace, and we have some exciting announcements coming your way in the weeks ahead.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support, volunteer, participate and make the Community Hub such a vibrant and welcoming place for all. ❤️

The Creeslough Community Association would like to extend our sincere thanks to Cllr John Sheamuis O Fearraigh, Donegal County Council, for his valued contribution, secured through the the Development Fund Initiative (DFI), towards the clearing of scrub at Cluain/Cloone, Massinass, Creeslough.

This important support will enable us to progress works on site, including the uncovering and preservation of the historic wall at Cloone, an important feature of local heritage.

We greatly appreciate the continued assistance in helping us protect and restore this historical feature .

A sincere thank you to local historian Charlie Gallagher for delivering a fascinating and informative talk on the history of Caisleán na dTuath. His knowledge and insights brought the rich heritage of the castle to life for all in attendance.

Also pictured are the Moore family, dedicated caretakers of the castle, and members of the Mac Giolla BhrĂghde family.

The celebrations continue later this evening with music from the Scoil Ghlasáin children, followed by a special one-man performance by Noel O'Gallchòir on Pádraig Mac Piarais.

We look forward to another wonderful evening of culture and history

Buíochas ó chroí leis an staraí áitiúil Charlie Gallagher as caint thar a bheith suimiúil agus eolasach a thabhairt ar stair Chaisleán na dTuath. Thug a chuid eolais agus léargais beocht d’oidhreacht shaibhir an chaisleáin do gach duine a bhí i láthair.

A wonderful afternoon at our Ciorcal CĂłmhra. Thank you to Seamus Herrity for facilitating the event, and a special word of thanks to the family of Niall Mac Giolla BhrĂde for joining us.

We were also treated to a performance on the uilleann pipes by Ronan, a great-great-grandnephew of Niall Mac Giolla BhrĂde. What an incredible talent!

Tráthnóna den scoth a bhí againn ag ár gCiorcal Comhrá inniu. Míle buíochas le Séamus Ó hOireachtaigh as an seisiún a stiúradh, agus buíochas ar leith le teaghlach Niall Mhic Giolla Bhríde as a bheith inár dteannta.

Bhí ceol den chéad scoth againn ó Rónán ar na píobaí uilleann. Is gar-neachtar mór mór le Niall Mac Giolla Bhríde é, agus is léir go bhfuil tallann ar leith aige. Ba mhór an pléisiúr é bheith ag éisteacht leis. 🎶
