📢 NARGC Óige Training Day – Harbour House Sports Club

NARGC Óige will host a fun, safe and friendly introduction to shooting sports on Sunday, July 26th at Harbour House Sports Club.

This training day is open to NARGC members only and is aimed at novice and beginner shooters aged 14–19 who would like to gain more experience in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.

Participants will receive:

✅ 25 shots from a shotgun firing at clay pigeons, static and moving steel plates
✅ 25 shots on a .22 rimfire 50m benchrest range
✅ Guidance and support from Harbour House and NARGC staff throughout the day

📍 Venue: Harbour House Sports Club
🕙 Arrive at: 10am
💶 Cost: €25

Fi****ms can be provided, or participants may bring their own firearm.

This is a fun, non-competitive day suited to complete beginners and novice shots looking to build confidence, improve skills and enjoy shooting sports in a safe and friendly learning environment.

To book a place, NARGC members should log in to the NARGC website and purchase a ticket online.

The first of the County Qualifiers are kicking of this weekend around the country, Corks Qualifier is taking place also this weekend in Dunmanway Clay Target Club . Weather looks promising 🌄 we hope to see a god turn out.

The Cork Federation held there quarterly meeting last week in the Cork International Hotel . A good turn out of club delegates was present on the night. 👍🏻

The NARGC organised an art competition to promote conservation and biodiversity in our schools.

The Cork federation got schools in the Cork County involved, with children picking up prizes for taking part.

Here in the photograph is Kirean Baxter from Ovens being presented a art set for his grandson Mailo Fridgene Baxter..

More prizes was given out to our under 21s longest Tail Competition with a great number of entries taking part. Well done everyone 👏

📢 NARGC Annual General Meeting 2026 – Tralee, Co. Kerry

The National Association of Regional Game Councils (NARGC) will hold its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 7 March 2026 at The Rose Hotel, Tralee, Co. Kerry.

The AGM will bring together delegates from across the country to discuss key issues affecting Ireland’s rural pursuits sector and the future of hunting and conservation. Members will review the organisation’s work over the past year and outline priorities for the year ahead.

As Ireland’s largest hunting association, the NARGC represents over 25,000 members nationwide. Each year, two delegates from every affiliated county attend the AGM to elect the National Executive and represent the views of approximately 1,000 affiliated gun clubs –a club in almost every parish in Ireland.

The 2026 AGM will be hosted by Kerry Regional Game Council, and the NARGC looks forward to welcoming delegates from across the country to Tralee for this important annual gathering.

Speaking about the AGM, NARGC National Chairman Dan Curley said:
"The AGM is the cornerstone of our democratic structure. It gives delegates from every county the opportunity not only to elect the National Executive, but to bring forward the issues affecting their regions, their gun clubs and their members. It is where the voice of rural Ireland and the hunting community comes together to shape the direction of our organisation for the year ahead."
