🚨 Callout (13/07/2026) 🚨
At 1:45pm today, Blessington Rescue Boat was tasked to a vessel on Blessington Lakes after it suffered engine failure and required assistance.
Our volunteer crew responded promptly, located the vessel, and safely established a tow back to Russellstown Bay.
Thankfully, all persons on board were safe and well, and no medical assistance was required.
Following the successful conclusion of the incident, the crew returned to base and the rescue boat was made ready for service.
As always, we’d encourage everyone heading onto the water to:
•Carry the appropriate safety equipment.
•Ensure your engine and vessel are in good working order before setting out.
•Wear a suitable lifejacket at all times.
•Let someone know your plans before heading onto the water.
If you see anyone in distress on the water, don’t hesitate to call 999 or 112, ask for the Coast Guard, and request Blessington Rescue Boat.
A big thank you to our volunteer crew for their quick response, and to the coast guard for all their assistance.
