We are excited to announce our participation in the DLI/ADCI One Act Festival this autumn. "Jack Furey" by Bryan McMahon is our play, directed by Philip Howlin. Rehearsals well under way with Grace played by Mary Brown, Daithi by Paddy O'Gorman and Josie by Gillian Dunlop. Dates for local shows with two more fundraiser comedies TBA!

📍 Mon 24th Aug: Registration numbers, forms to apply to festivals and updated festival contact list emailed to groups by the ADCI/DLI Joint Committee Secretary.

📍 Fri 28th Aug, 12 noon: Closing date for applying to register for the ADCI/DLI One Act Circuit 2026. https://dli.ie/apply-for-one-act-festival/

📍Sat 29th Aug, 12 noon: Groups can apply to festivals from 12 noon.
Groups can participate in a max of 5 festivals (unless directed otherwise by the Joint Committee.

📍Sat 5th Sept: Festivals can publish their festival line-up.

📍 Thurs 22nd Oct to Sun 22nd Nov: 23 festivals run in the ADCI/DLI One Act Circuit over 5 weekends.

📍 Fri 4th to Sun 6th Dec: All Ireland One Act Finals 2026 in Letterkenny.

The Drama League of Ireland (DLI) is deeply honoured and delighted to announce that President Catherine Connolly has graciously agreed to become Patron of the organisation.

This is a tremendous privilege for the DLI and for the wider amateur dramatic community throughout Ireland. President Connolly has long demonstrated a profound appreciation for culture, creativity and community engagement, and her support for the dramatic arts is both inspiring and deeply valued.

Amateur drama has played a vital role in Irish cultural life for generations — bringing people together, nurturing talent, encouraging storytelling and strengthening communities in every corner of the country. The President’s acceptance of this role is a powerful recognition of the importance and enduring contribution of amateur theatre in Ireland.

The Drama League of Ireland looks forward with great pride to this new chapter and is sincerely grateful for President Connolly’s encouragement, goodwill and support for the arts and for all those who dedicate their time, talent and passion to theatre.
