As its now August and only a couple of weeks away from members returning to school.
I thought this might be helpful as young people get anxious returning to school after the summer break with having a new teacher, learning more than previously and building friends and homework.
As the new school year approaches, many children are feeling a mixture of excitement and worry. 💛

School anxiety is more common than many people realise. Some children may complain of tummy aches, headaches, struggle to sleep, become clingy, or seem unusually emotional. These feelings are very real to them, even if they can't always explain why.

As parents, carers, teachers, youth leaders and loved ones, we can make a huge difference by offering reassurance, patience, and understanding.

✨ Some simple ways to help:
• Listen without judgement and let them talk about their worries.
• Keep morning routines calm and predictable.
• Focus on the positives while acknowledging their fears.
• Let them know it's okay to feel nervous—many children do.
• Celebrate even the smallest achievements and brave moments.
• Give lots of hugs, encouragement, and remind them that you believe in them.

Children don't need us to take away every challenge. They need to know they have someone beside them while they face those challenges.

To every little one feeling worried about school... you are stronger than you think, braver than you know, and you never have to face it alone. ❤️

And to every parent sending their child through those school gates with a smile while holding back your own worries... you're doing an amazing job too. One step, one day, one smile at a time. 🌈

To Our Amazing Youth Leaders – Thank You

As we finish another wonderful season, I just want to take a moment to say a truly heartfelt thank you to every one of our youth leaders.

Your kindness, generosity, patience, and commitment have meant more than words can express. You have freely given your evenings, your time, your ideas, and your hearts to create a place where our young people feel safe, welcomed, valued, and encouraged to be themselves.

Many of the moments you create may seem small, but they have a lasting impact. Every game played, every conversation had, every laugh shared, every word of encouragement, and every helping hand has made a real difference in the lives of the young people who come through our doors.

A special thank you also goes to your families and loved ones, who support you in giving your time to the club. Volunteering is a commitment that often means giving up personal and family time, and their encouragement makes your contribution possible.

It has been a pleasure to work alongside such a dedicated and caring team. Together, we have built not just a youth club, but a community where young people can belong, grow, and make lasting memories.

I hope each of you enjoys a well-earned summer break. Take time to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with your family and friends.

I can't wait to welcome everyone back in September for another exciting year filled with new adventures, new friendships, and more opportunities to make a positive difference in the lives of our young people.

Thank you for everything you have done this year. Your dedication never goes unnoticed, and our club is stronger because of each one of you.

Have a fantastic summer, stay safe, and see you all in September!

Every year, 4–9% of unsold textiles in Europe are destroyed.

Starting today, that's changing. 🇪🇺

The EU's ban on destroying unsold clothes and shoes officially comes into force today.

Large companies can no longer destroy unsold clothes, shoes, and clothing accessories. Instead, they'll need to:

🛍️ Sell them, including through discounts or alternative markets
💚 Donate them to charities or social enterprises
🔄 Reuse them
♻️ Recycle them

For medium-sized companies, the ban will apply as of 2030.

This ban will prevent wasting valuable products, including the resources and raw materials used to make them, while also reducing their environmental and climate impact.
