That’s a wrap! 🎭✨
What an incredible run for the Glanmire Players' very first production! Putting on "It's the Real McCoy" has been an absolute joy and so much fun from start to finish.
We are overwhelmed by the support we’ve received over the last three nights. A massive thank you to the local community, our brilliant local businesses, and our wonderful friends and family who turned out in force to cheer us on.
A special shout-out to Riverstown National School for letting us use their amazing stage, we couldn’t have done it without such a fantastic space to call home for the week! 🏫✨
Thank you also to the seasoned members of other local drama groups and those who have performed this play before. Your words of encouragement, expert advice, and warm welcome into the theatre community meant the world to us as we found our feet. 👏
To everyone who gave us a standing ovation or shared a kind word, Thank You. You made this experience unforgettable! We truly hope this isn't the last you see of us. This is just the beginning of something great, and we can’t wait to bring more stories to the stage in the future. Watch this space! 🌟
And finally, while the drama on stage was great, the cast and crew are now retiring to the wings for a well-deserved rest. If you need us, we’ll be horizontal until further notice …turns out, being this "real" is exhausting! 😴🎬

Lovely memories from our first ever performance, what a special night for all involved!

With only 1 sleep left before we take to the stage , we finish our meet the cast series with an introduction to our Director.

Meet Catriona O'Gorman

Originally from Kilkee, Co. Clare, Catriona has lived in Cork since 2000, though she’s known as "the Cork girl" to everyone back home!
A veteran of the stage, she’s well known for her roles with the Shanowen Players, particularly as the lead in JB Keane’s Big Maggie and Sive. Her turn in Laundry and Bourbon on the DLI circuit earned her several Best Actress awards, including one presented by the late Michael Twomey.
Since moving to Glanmire in 2017, Catriona joined the Glanmire Theatre Group after spotting a post on the Mums of Glanmire page. She’s found a brilliant group of friends and is now taking on the "fun challenge" of directing for the very first time. She can't wait for you all to see the show! Best of luck to Catriona on your directorial debut!

Meet Tyrone Power

Ty is delighted to be part of It’s The Real McCoy, taking on the role of Father Michael McCoy.
A primary school teacher by day, Ty has always had a passion for drama, both in and out of the classroom. He has experience performing in local productions and is also involved in writing and directing, often bringing creative projects to life with young students and community groups. Ty loves the energy and camaraderie that comes with theatre, and being part of Glanmire Players has been especially meaningful - a space filled with creativity, laughter, and genuine support. He has particularly enjoyed the humour and heart of It’s The Real McCoy, as well as the chance to explore such a lively and entertaining character alongside a brilliant cast. When he’s not on stage, Ty can usually be found gaming, writing, or finding new ways to bring creativity into his teaching. Best of Luck on stage Ty you will be fantastic!

Meet Siobhàn Mcgrath Buckley

Siobhàn is a seasoned performer with a lifelong passion for the stage, beginning with childhood plays at home alongside her seven sisters. A long-time member of the Shannowen Players, she has balanced roles both in the spotlight and behind the scenes.
Siobhàn is set to return to the stage as Madge Molloy in the Glanmire Players production of It’s the Real McCoy.
Recently Siobhàn starred as Aunt Lizzy in Philadelphia, Here I Come!(2025) and Eileen in The Cripple of Inishmaan(2024). Her credits include playing Sylvia in the female version of The Odd Couple and previous runs as Madge in It’s the Real McCoy. If life wasn’t busy enough for Siobhàn she is also an active member of the Fermoy musical scene, appearing as Kay in Twin Flames the Musical and has worked with the Fermoy Musical Society.

Off-Stage Siobhàn has served as Assistant Director for The Kings of the Kilburn Highroad and Production Manager for youth pantomimes including Alice in Pantoland and Rapunzel. Wishing you the Best of Luck this week Siobhàn as you take to the stage!

🎭 A Note of Appreciation & Inspiration
As we approach our opening night, the Glanmire Players are truly honoured to receive a message of support from local actor Pascal Scott.
For many of our members, Pascal is a particular source of inspiration. His journey transitioning from a long-standing career in a completely different professional field to becoming a mainstay of Irish stage and screen is a testament to the fact that it is never too late to follow a passion for the arts.
Pascal has shown how a life lived outside the theatre only adds more depth and character to a performance. To have such a respected professional of the acting world reach out to us as we begin our own journey is incredibly meaningful.

We are looking forward to bringing "It’s The Real McCoy" to the stage this week and hope to do our local community proud.

Our sincere thanks to Pascal for his kindness, and to our sponsors Elevate Credit Union for their continued support. ☘️

🎭 Meet Anne

Making her acting debut, Glanmire resident and Mayfield native Anne Malone, brings a truly feisty spirit to the role of Nora O’Hora. While she admits to being a "nervous wreck" herself, she is loving every minute of rehearsals and relies on Nora’s brave, fearless nature to carry her through her very first performance. Anne is thoroughly enjoying working with a great bunch of people both on stage and behind the scenes! Best of Luck on Stage Anne!
