🐴 URGENT PLEA FOR GRAZING & FOSTER HOMES 🐴

We are looking for grazing and foster homes for horses who need a chance at a better life. Some of these horses have come from difficult circumstances and need somewhere peaceful, secure and caring while they recover, gain weight, receive veterinary care and learn to trust people again.

💚 We are looking for:
• Grazing with secure fencing
• Foster homes able to provide a loving, secure environment
• Individuals, farmers or landowners who may have unused grazing available
• Anyone who could offer temporary or longer-term accommodation

Fostering a rescue horse can be incredibly rewarding. The rescue will provide support and guidance, and we will discuss each horse's individual needs with potential foster homes.

Please get in touch if you can help. A safe field or a kind foster home could make an enormous difference to a horse who has nowhere else to go.

If you have grazing available, know someone who might, or would consider fostering, please send us a private message or email [email protected]

Please share this post far and wide. You never know who might have that one spare field or be the person able to give a horse a second chance. ❤️🐴

Thank you for helping us give these horses the safe and loving future they deserve.

**URGENT FOSTER HOME REQUIRED**
Eddie & Norman are in need of an urgent foster home.

Eddie is 10 years old and came from Cork pound 6 years ago.

Norman Kipper is 9 years old and was rescued a few months before Eddie.

Both boys are shetland height. They have been together for over 5 years and are very bonded.

These cheeky chappies would be best suited to a home with equine experience.

💔EMERGENCY RESCUE THIS EVENING IN CORK 💔💔
This poor little pony was found tied up in Cork at around 9am this morning. He was moved before we could get to him, so our Cork team and An Garda Síochána spent hours searching for him.

Eventually, we found him, tied tightly under a bridge, exhausted, terrified and desperately thin. 💔

Three incredible veterinary nurses from Sunbeam Veterinary Hospital stayed with this poor baby for hours, caring for him and keeping him safe. As soon as we found out they had him, we rushed straight there.❤️

Our amazing Cork team are now driving him up to Kildare, where he will be assessed at UCD in the morning, or our own vets will come out to him if he is not fit to travel any further.

He has clearly been ridden into exhaustion. His poor back is incredibly sore, and he is only a baby. 💔💔💔

The cruelty this little boy has endured is absolutely heartbreaking. No animal should ever be treated this way.💔💔💔😡😡😡

But today, he had an army of people fighting for him. ❤️

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the amazing veterinary nurses who stayed with him, and to our incredible Cork team who never gave up searching for him and are now getting him safely to Kildare to the main MLHR Farm ❤️

He is safe now.
And from here, he will receive everything he so desperately deserves, veterinary care, pain relief, food, rest, love and a chance at a proper life. 🥹❤️

But we desperately need your help.

PLEASE DONATE IF YOU CAN ❤️

Emergency vet bills, transport, treatment and are always enormous.

We don't stop. We can't. And neither will we.❤️❤️

Please help us give this beautiful little boy the future he deserves. ❤️🐴

Every donation, no matter how small, helps.

Thank you for standing with us and for helping us fight for the animals who have nobody else.💔❤️💔❤️

MLHR Sweetie and Tory 🥰🥰

Sweetie came into our care in Feb 2022 as a foal. Sweetie was left with her mother who had died in a stream. Initially Sweetie was extremely shy of people and nervous. She can still be quite shy with new people so she would really benefit form some 1:1 time. She is extremely curious and independent and would make an amazing companion pony. Sweetie is standing at approx 12:2 and is 4 years old.

Tory came into our care in Sept 2021 Tory is an Absolute sweetheart. She loves to interact with other animals on the farm. She is a very calm and friendly pony who would make an amazing companion. She has been best friends with sweetie since the day they arrived together ❤️ Tory is five years old.

We would love for Sweetie and Tory to find a home together. They have been together the last two and a half years and are very bonded.

Thank you to we really appreciate you being so proactive and using your authority under the animal welfare act for this little pony

Yesterday, Gardaí responded to reports of a pony tied to a tree in a housing estate in the Bishopstown area of Cork City and had been used to pull a cart during the hat weather and wasn’t being looked after.

Gardaí located the pony, and subsequent enquiries established that it had been purchased at a recent horse fair before being transported to and kept in the public green area of a housing estate.

The pony was not microchipped, as required by law, and was subsequently seized under the Control of Horses Act 1996 (as amended).

The pony is now in care of the vets and being well looked after.

An Garda Síochána reminds all animal owners that they have a legal responsibility to ensure their animals are properly identified, kept under control, and that their welfare is safeguarded at all times.
