Thank you to we really appreciate you being so proactive and using your authority under the animal welfare act for this little pony

Yesterday, Gardaí responded to reports of a pony tied to a tree in a housing estate in the Bishopstown area of Cork City and had been used to pull a cart during the hat weather and wasn’t being looked after.

Gardaí located the pony, and subsequent enquiries established that it had been purchased at a recent horse fair before being transported to and kept in the public green area of a housing estate.

The pony was not microchipped, as required by law, and was subsequently seized under the Control of Horses Act 1996 (as amended).

The pony is now in care of the vets and being well looked after.

An Garda Síochána reminds all animal owners that they have a legal responsibility to ensure their animals are properly identified, kept under control, and that their welfare is safeguarded at all times.

We were very well represented at Cork Summer Show today.

Well done to all of our adopters and ponies

MLHR April was first in her rescue class and won champion of the show.

MLHR Ben was 1st in the inhand class and 2nd in the ridden class

MLHR Gracie (Barryroe Princess Frankie) was 3rd

MLHR Marty was 4th

So proud of everyone ❤️ once discarded and neglected to loved and adored

The Easter Bunny left a very special gift for us yesterday morning, and it was wasnt a chocolate egg💞💞💞

We rescued her mum from the horse pound last year, unbeknownst to us that we saved two lives that day💖

Thank you so much to Aidan who we love and very much appreciate for all he does for us.

Several of our ponies had their teeth done today.

Aidan has this incredible way about him that reassures our nervous ponies. Getting their teeth done is so important even if they are not riding ponies to ensure they can chew their food properly.

We are so surprised that the beautiful MLHR Sweetie and Tory haven't found a home yet.

Many of you will remember Sweeties very sad story. Sweetie came into our care in Feb 2022 as a foal. Sweetie was left with her mother who had died in a stream. Sweetie stood over her mums body for a few days. Initially Sweetie was extremely shy of people and nervous as she was absolutely heartbroken. Sweetie slowly started coming out of her shell with some love, care and attention. She can still be quite shy with new people so she would really benefit form some 1:1 time. She is extremely curious and independent and would make an amazing companion pony. Sweetie is standing at approx 12:2 and is 4 years old.

Tory came into our care in Sept 2021 Tory is an Absolute sweetheart. She loves to interact with other animals on the farm. She is a very calm and friendly pony who would make an amazing companion. She has been best friends with sweetie since the day they were paired together. Tory is five years old.

We would love for Sweetie and Tory to find a home together. They have been together the last two and a half years and are very bonded.
