Creative Tradition We are a non-profit that teaches traditional music to people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

Creative Tradition is a non-profit, community organization which runs social and musical projects in Cork, including
Club Ceoil Blarney, Club Ceoil Knocknaheeny, TradOrchestras, TradCamps, and various in-school programmes. Our experienced and talented music tutors have a passion for teaching trad music to learners of all skill levels and ages. Our programmes are research-based and led by Dr. Jessi

We’ve landed at the Belfast TradFest for a brilliant weekend with our friends The Kabin Studio ✨ Kabin Crew Oh Yeah Music Centre 🙌

We already saw Four Men and a Dog, recorded new tracks and met new friends. Thanks so much to Cork LCYP Music Generation Cork City for the support, and music teachers Joanne Quirke Frances Curran 🎻

We’re over the moon 🪗 We’ve been planning a trip to the Fleadh Cheoil for a while, and now have support from Music Generation Cork City Music Generation Ireland and Ed Sheeran to make the journey become a dream of a lifetime.

We’re currently on the train to Belfast with 21 young people from and The Kabin Studio Cork. Looking forward to sharing loads of new music and memories with ye soon 🪗🎶❤️

The Ed Sheeran Foundation has announced its first project in Ireland, North South Sounds 2026, which aims to connect children and young people in Cork city and Belfast through songwriting, performance, and more.

What an unbelievable few days at TradCamp 2026! 🎵🪗 The tunes, songs, and dancing from all our young traditional musicians were absolutely inspirational - we had the best craic! We learned both new tunes and songs including The Winding Road Down to Kells Bay by

Massive thanks to our incredible tutors - Jessie, Julie, and .turk.music for all their fun and encouragement! 🙌

And a huge shoutout to our partners at and .aiseiri.chriost for making TradCamp possible again this year 🙏

It was a fantastic opportunity for the Teen Trad group to rehearse as well for this year’s Fleadh Cheoil in Belfast. We will be practing and heading off the August bank holiday weekend thanks to 🙏🪗

Creative Places Knocknaheeny is an ambitious community‑led artistic programme for Knocknaheeny in Cork city developing inclusively through partnership.
