A week ago today, I laid to rest the love of my life. My Mick. My everything.

I still don't believe it's real. I know it is—I was there, I felt the cold of that day, I watched them lower him into the ground. But my heart? My heart is still waiting for him to walk through the door. Still reaching for his hand in the dark. Still expecting to hear that voice—just 12 seconds, God, just 12 seconds—one more time.

Mick and I built something fierce. We weren't perfect, but we were real. Straight-talking, no-filter, ride-or-die real. We could be jealous as hell and laugh about it five minutes later. We could fight like enemies and love like teenagers. He was stubborn, maddening, brilliant, and the most ridiculous man I ever met—and I wouldn't have changed a single damn thing about him.

Together, we built this. Straight up, from nothing. With sweat, with tears, with arguments at 2am and high-fives at sunrise. We made something that mattered. And we made it ours.

So here's the thing—Street Angels will still go strong. Every Monday night. That was our baby, and it's still alive. I have the most incredible team standing beside me, people who believe in what we built and will carry it forward with pride. They'll do me proud. They'll do him proud.

But for now, I need to step back. My heart is shattered in a way I didn't know was possible. I can't lead like I usually do. I can't be the loudest voice in the room. Not yet. Maybe not for a while.

So I'm handing the reins to my volunteers. They know the mission. They know the heart behind it. They know what Mick would expect—and they'll deliver.

To everyone who has shown up, who has held us, who has sent love and light—thank you. Please keep showing up for them. Keep showing up for each other. And if you believe in anything at all, say a prayer, light a candle, or just send a thought up to the sky for my Mick.

Because 2026? That's still our year. It has to be. We set it in motion together, and I'll be damned if I let it stop now. I'll find my way back. I just need time.

Until then—keep the Angels flying.

I see you, my beloved Mick. Always.
And forever in my heart.

It is with the deepest regret and a shattered heart that I share the news that my beloved husband passed away this morning. He was found peacefully at home.

He was the love of my life, and words cannot capture the depth of this loss. I ask for your grace and patience as I navigate this unimaginable time.

Details regarding services will be shared as soon as they are arranged. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Thirty Nine years ago today, I said "I do" to the love of my life, Michael. ā¤ļø And on this very same day, 10 years later, my sister Annette said "I do" to her love, Paul.

What are the odds that we'd share this special date? Double the love, double the anniversaries! Happy 39th to us and happy 29th to Annette & Paul. Here's to many more years of celebrating together! šŸ„‚

To my Friend Stephine Gordon of over 40 years im heartbroken to get the news of your passing.

Those holidays, we had and the endless pots of tea (three whole pots before she'd even think about going home!), and that sweet nickname—"Hazel meringue"—what a gift to have had a friendship full of warmth and laughter. That kind of inside-joke, lifelong connection is so rare and so precious to me. And the way she call my husband "Mickeen put ghe kettle on" shows how comfortable she was with my whole family.
when someone is so vividly present in my life, it feels impossible that they're suddenly not a phone call away. But the truth is, i treasured the love and that friendship we had tells me she be missed dvery single day.

And that last line—"Rest well, you're in the arms of our angels. One day I'll see you soon"—is absolutely heartbreakingly but we see each other one day i promise.

Those pots of tea and dinners will be memories i wil hold dear till we meet again.

Sending love to all steph family, realtives neighbours nd Friends and all who loved her so much. You're not alone in this.

URGENT UPDATE: We Need Your Help More Than Ever

Hi everyone,

I’m writing this with a heavy but hopeful heart. First and foremost, thank you for every single donation, share, and kind word you’ve given us so far. You are the reason Street Angels can keep showing up.

But right now, we are in a critical situation and need to be completely transparent with you.

The numbers are staggering. In just six months, the number of people we are feeding has nearly doubled. We are now serving almost 100% more hot meals than we were half a year ago.

Here’s the reality:

We are running out of food Within just 30 to 40 minutes of opening our doors, our hot food is completely gone. We are being forced to turn people away, and it is breaking our hearts.
Our funds are dangerously low. On top of the increased demand, our van our lifeline has needed serious and costly repairs, which has drained our reserves.
Please help if u can big or small donations turn to our website nd and company with fast food we be greatful if u could donate we are out once a week on mondays

Our funds are dangerously low. On top of the increased demand, our van our lifeline has needed serious and costly repairs, which has drained our reserves.

What we urgently need right now:

1. Tents and sleeping bags With the weather turning, we desperately need shelter for those sleeping rough.

2. Hot Food Supplies – If you are a supplier or know a local business that could donate hot food (even once a week), please reach out. We are so grateful for any help.
3. Toiletries ,Hygiene Bags – We are completely out of basic toiletries of all sorts.

4. Clothing – We are in desperate need of:
Ā· White socks
Ā· Men’s underwear [ Med, Large XLarge ]
Ā· Ladies’ briefs [Med & large ]
5. Bottled water nd minerals nd treat bags of sweets nd choclates.

Please, if you can donate any amount—big or small—every single penny will go directly toward keeping our doors open and our meals hot.

And if you can’t donate, please share this post. You never know who might see it and be able to help.

We are so grateful for this community. We can’t do this without you.

What an incredible few weeks it's been! šŸƒā€ā™€ļøšŸ’™

Thanks to the amazing Ina for organising this fundraiser, they have been able to buy and collect over 20 pairs of brand new, top-of-the-range runners for Street Angels.

Last week, we had the absolute joy of handing most of them out to those who needed them most. Seeing the smiles and knowing these runners are making a real difference—that's what it's all about.

We've still got a few more pairs to give out next week, so watch this space!

Huge gratitude to everyone who donated, supported, and helped spread the word. And Ina—you're an absolute star! 🌟

Craine Logistics in little island are never simple, but with hearts like this, they make it happen 2nd year in a row thank you so much. šŸļøā¤ļø

A coffee morning with a mission.

This Saturday, 4th July • 10:30am – 12:30pm
The Haven Cafe, Bachelor's Quay

We're Street Angels, and for years we've been here—feeding, helping, and standing with those who need it most.

But here's the truth: in just one month, our Monday numbers have nearly doubled. More plates. More people. More urgency.

We urgently need funds to keep up. To buy food. To keep the doors open. To keep showing up.

If you can't make it on Saturday, you can still help. Every share, every donation, every coffee bought makes a difference.

Come for the coffee. Stay for the cause.

šŸ“… Sat 4th July • 10:30–12:30

Please share this post. Bring a friend. Bring your heart.
