A huge thank you to singer Karen Hammond from Singing Circle sessions for joining us at our Women's Shed meeting last week. We had a wonderful morning learning to sing in harmony.

Karen also runs a cross-community, multinational choir, meeting every Wednesday at 7pm in Bray and this friendly and vibrant group offers a chance to connect with others through the joy of music. Members learn practical tools to help them sing with confidence, while enjoying a warm, relaxed and fun environment. Half-time break with tea, coffee and biscuits provided.

We were delighted to be joined at last nights Shed meeting by President Anne O'Loughlin and Club member Sally Ryan from Greystones Lawn Bowling Club

President Anne gave us a great insight into the Club, its membership, and all of it's activities.
The club was founded in 1985 and is situated just a 2min walk from Greystones train station and 5 mins from the N.11. The Club welcome bowlers of all ages and abilities. Lawn bowls is a competitive sport but it can also be played socially.

Sally very kindly demonstrated the correct way to bowl and explained the rules of the game, appropriate clothing etc.

The Club is always looking for new members, so whether youโ€™re an experienced bowler or are brand new to the game, everyone is welcome.

We would like to sincerely thank Anne and Sally for a very interesting and entertaining evening.

Our Womens Shed members would like to sincerely thank Bill Markham from the Ashford & District Beekeepers' Association for joining us at our Shed meeting last week.

Bill spoke about what a great a community organization the Ashford & District Beekeepers' Association (ABKA) is, with a diverse membership; people of all ages, from all walks of life drawn together by their love of bees and appreciation of nature and the environment.

The ABKA volunteers provide education, training and mentoring to anyone who asks, and they have members throughout County Wicklow. ABKA is a member of the Federation of Irish Beekeeper's Associations, which represents all of the associations and groups nationwide, providing a wealth of information and support to its members.

It is generally well-known that Ireland's bee population is in serious decline and so the ABKA are trying to do their bit to help by raising awareness of the importance of these creatures.

Thanks Bill for a really informative and interesting talk.

Our North Wicklow Women's Shed members would like to sincerely thank Annette Kinne from the Charity CALI: Care + Learn Ireland (based in Newtownmountkennedy), who met with our members recently.

Annette gave us a wonderful insight into CALI's programme, which is being delivered and was made possible through the support of The Human Dignity Foundation.

CALI was born out of a passionate determination by a group of parents of children with severe to profound learning disabilities to create an environment where their adult children could flourish. The vision was to create a programme where they would continue to have access to bespoke Learning, Care and the Multidisciplinary Therapies they need to thrive.

CALI is a wonderful organisation and we were delighted to meet Annette and hear all about it.

It was a really interesting and informative session and we would like to sincerely thank Victor for taking the time to meet with us.
