🚜🌿 FLAT TO THE MAT! 😁🌿

Our volunteers have had a very busy week, and honestly, the buzz around the place is amazing. From spreading gravel, to painting, weeding and tidying, we are definitely on a roll — and the whole community seems inspired by the momentum building around the village 💚

We’re also delighted to be getting new planters for Tinakilly Bridge, and a big shout out to Wicklow County Council for their support with these. The new planters will allow for more sustainable planting with year-round interest, instead of seasonal summer planting only. 🌸🌿

Wicklow Coco Ground Crew have already removed the old planters and our volunteers have cleaned the bridge in preparation for painting, and they’ll be busy painting the bridge tomorrow. 🎨

Honestly, we’re blown away by how much has been achieved — particularly over the last month. This is what community is all about 💪💚

******EDIT TO EARLIER NOTICE *******

🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM THE CONTRACTORS 🚨

There has been a change to the dates for the park closure in relation to the repair works on the paths around the lake.

👉 The park will now be closed on Friday, May 30th only.

✅ The park will reopen on Saturday and remain open throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.

❗ Unfortunately, the Saturday Market will not take place this week. The market will return as normal on Saturday, June 6th.

🚧 The park will then close again from Tuesday, June 2nd, as repair works recommence.

As previously advised, there will be heavy machinery operating within the park during these works, and closures are necessary to ensure public safety.

Thank you once again for your patience and understanding as these important repair works continue 💚

🌿 Spotlight on Community Adopt-a-Spot 🌿

Meet one of our Community Spot Keepers, Colin Gillick 💚

Colin adopted the garden at the Parish Hall a couple of years ago and has since put so much work, care, and creativity into keeping the space looking beautiful.

The Tidy Towns adjudicators even described it as a “stunning garden” in their 2024 report 🌸

Thank you Colin on behalf of the community 🙌

This is a perfect example of how adopting a small spot can make a big difference.

☀️💚 What a Fantastic Community Effort Today!

A massive thank you to everyone who volunteered their time on this beautiful sunny day to help with painting, weeding, spreading bark mulch and litter picking around the village. An incredible amount of work was accomplished, and the difference is already clear to see 👏

There was a fantastic buzz around the village, with music in the air from the Wicklow Fleadh and the Son of a Honey Bag Exhibition at Kunstverein Aughrim adding to the atmosphere. 🎶🎨

A big shout out as well to Hugh and the lads from Wicklow County Council grounds crew for painting the library — it’s looking fantastic and will be completed during the week.

There’s a big push on now to have the village looking its very best before Tidy Towns judging begins in June. Let’s show the judges what community pride really looks like 💪🌿
