Omeath District Development Company is a social economy enterprise limited by guarantee, with a charitable status providing social, economic, employment, recreational and tourism services within a CLÁR designated area. Omeath District Development Company was formed in 1986 as a registered company and charity. The company is now recognised as a primary social/economic driver and facilitator for emp

loyment, as in addition to the employment of three full time employees under the POBAL funded Social Economy Programme with a remit for tourism the company also provides part time employment for five TÚS workers, eight FÁS community employment workers and a Louth Leader Rural Social Scheme employee delivering administration support, tourism and environmental services within the community. Since 1993 Omeath District Development has generated training and employment opportunities for in excess of 300 local residents under funded and community employment schemes and programmes. Within the Dolmen Centre the community services provision include a function hall, fully serviced kitchen and catering facilities, meeting rooms, intervention support facility, outreach clinics for state and statutory agencies and polling station. Company Registration Number 205262

We are delighted to announce another great Workshop here in the Dolmen Centre as part of our Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies Programme during the Summer months with the support of the HSE National Lottery Funding.
Come join us for a Creative Arts Adult Workshop commencing Monday 6th July for 4 weeks from 10am to 1pm. It will be Self Portrait course that will support mental, spiritual, and creative well-being, enabling students to explore authentic self-expression through artistic practice. 🎒 Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance 2026

Did you know?
The Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance is now open, and for the first time, eligible children aged 2 and 3 are now included.

This year the payment is:

👟 €160 for eligible children aged 2 to 11

📚 €285 for eligible children aged 12 to 22

The scheme opened on 3 June 2026 and applications close on 30 September 2026. Many families will receive the payment automatically, but if you do not receive a notification and think you may qualify, you can apply through MyWelfare.

We are delighted to announce the beginning of our Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies Programme for the Summer with the support of the HSE National Lottery Grants with the first of the courses taking place here in the Dolmen Centre, Omeath.
Our Grow, Cook, Eat, Heal Health and Wellbeing Course kindly delivered by local lady Roisin Cotter and master herbalist Pauline Morgan Caffrey will be hands-on and based on a mixture of information and experiential learning - how our food is grown and where it comes from, recipes and demos each week of healthy dishes we can make from local ingredients-promoting healthy food choices. All recipes and information on culinary/health benefits will be available to all participants.
This 4 week course is open to everyone and it will take place here every Tuesday, commencing on Tuesday 23rd June from 10am to 1pm. Cost is €10 per person per week. For more info and to book your place please contact us on 0429375422 or by email to info@dbusiness.

We are delighted to announce another great camp for the youth " POSITIVE COMMUNICATION WITHOUT DEVICES" here in the Dolmen Centre as part of our Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies Programme during the Summer months with the support of the HSE National Lottery Funding.
It is open to children aged strictly 8 to 15. This camp will involve games, storytelling and singing showing the importance of human interaction and the negative impact screens, mobile phones and technology in general can have on our relationships. It takes place from Wednesday 22nd July to Friday 24th July from 10am to 1pm. Cost is €25 per child and family discount applies. We are delighted to announce the taking place of the "SELF RESILIENCE EDUCATIONAL YOUTH DRAMA WORKSHOP" here in the Dolmen Centre as part of our Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies Programme during the Summer months with the support of the HSE National Lottery Funding.
It is open to children aged strictly 8 to 15. The topics of the workshop will be delivered through role play/ sketches/ improv. The topics covered will include bullying, discrimination and self-awareness. It takes place from Wednesday 15th July to Friday 17th July from 10am to 1pm.
