✨ Exciting News from our Children’s Education and Wellbeing (CEW) Programme!✨

​Yesterday marked a beautiful milestone at our Ha Maqele facility as we officially launched our basic Sign Language Introductory Course for our young clients! 🤟📚

​Following a successful coordination and planning session between our team in Lesotho 🇱🇸 we have structured a foundational curriculum designed to teach the English alphabet and core introductory signs.

​To make sure every child gets the most out of this program, we have split our 70 participating children into two specialized daily sessions every Tuesday and Wednesday.

​Thanks to meticulous planning, the kids kicked off their very first session yesterday smoothly at 11am.

​A massive, heartfelt thank you goes out to Miss. Tatolo Mohapi for stepping up, sharing her formal sign language training, to enrich the lives of our CEW clients. Your dedication to our community is highly appreciated! 🌟

🌱 COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT IN MOTION: ACTION LESOTHO AT HA LITSOAKO!🌱

​Today, our dedicated Horticulture Team is on the ground at Ha Litsoako village, partnering with passionate local farmers for an impactful day of hands-on training!

​Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty by equipping our community with sustainable, life-changing agricultural skills. Today's training is focused on two major milestones:

​💡 Advanced Horticulture Skills – Empowering farmers with the knowledge to maximize crop yields and build resilient food systems.
🧱 Community Compost Construction – Working hand-in-hand to build a shared compost system that will naturally enrich the soil for the entire village.

​🤝 MADE POSSIBLE BY EXCELLENT PARTNERSHIPS

All of this incredible work is made possible through the generous funding and unwavering support of the Rotary Club of Maseru, Rotary Club of Tralee, and Rotary International. We are deeply grateful for this powerful partnership, which allows us to invest directly in the future of our local farmers and community sustainability.

A friend of Action Lesotho has very generously donated two rings (one diamond and one onyx) which will be sold at auction on 28th April in Dublin, Ireland to raise funds for Action Lesotho. John Weldon Auctioneers are not charging Action Lesotho any commission so all the money will come directly to the charity. The rings are lots 87 and 88. SAVE THE NEXT DATE

Today, our Horticulture Team hosted a farmers’ training workshop in Maputsoe, Phukalla, bringing together 22 local farmers to share knowledge and strengthen skills in sustainable agriculture. This marks the beginning of a fortnightly training programme designed to empower our community with practical tools for food security and horticultural development.

Through our Horticulture Programme, we are committed to supporting families and communities with innovative solutions such as sack gardens, keyhole gardens, home gardens, and market gardens. These approaches ensure that even households with limited space can grow fresh vegetables, contributing to healthier diets and stronger livelihoods.

We are proud to see farmers engaging with these methods and building resilience against food insecurity. Together, we are cultivating not only vegetables but also hope, independence, and community strength.
