This year I’m running the Dublin City Marathon for Pieta, but for me, this journey is about so much more than 42.2km.

It’s about hope, healing and remembering those we have lost to su***de.

This year marks 25 years since we lost my brother Colin, and as I run in his memory, I would also love to carry the names of others who are deeply missed.

So, if you have lost a loved one to su***de, I would be honoured to dedicate one kilometre of my Marathon to them and include your family in this journey of remembrance and healing.

Simply send me their name privately or comment below if you feel comfortable.

Every name matters. Every life mattered. Every family deserves hope and healing.

I’ll carry them with me, one kilometre at a time.

Running for Pieta. Running for Colin. Running for all those we have lost. 💛

Sean's Speech ❤️

First of all it’s an absolute honour to be an ambassador for this years darkness into light. I would like to thank Simon, Sharon and Ursula for picking me as the ambassador this year it means a lot.

Mental health is a sensitive topic to most people but we need to break down barriers and we need to be able to speak openly to each other, that could be meet up with your friend for a coffee or go for a walk to giving a phone call to pieta house.

Especially when I am such a high performing athlete, mental health can also be so important especially when it can be mentally challenging as well sometimes. But it can also go with anything in life especially with work, college and so on.

I have seen how much of a toll mental health takes on people’s life as I have witnessed it in school, sport and friendship.

One advice I would give to everyone that is listening is that you are not alone, you can always speak up and talk to anyone because people will always be open to listen to your problems and never be ashamed to feel how you feel because it’s okay not to be okay.

I hope you understand what the meaning of this event and why this is such a main topic of today.
