St Patrick's Pilgrim Walk for Childhood Cancer We are fundraising for Children's Hospital Crumlin & Temple Street and The Gavin Glynn Foundation, to support Childhood cancer awareness for September.

We are forever grateful for their work and support during our son's (Michael) cancer treatment. We've chosen to fundraise for Children's Hospital Crumlin, Children's Hospital Temple Street and The Gavin Glynn Foundation, to support Childhood cancer awareness for September and causes that work in this area. We are asking for your support as we undergo our own walk in aid of these good causes, but a

lso encouraging you to undertake your own walk for Childhood cancer awareness. Pls share your own walks/event no matter if short/small or more challenging. Our family had the need to call on these services suddenly in June 2020, when our son Michael experienced a headache while out with his brothers, which was quickly diagnosed as a brain tumour and requiring emergency life saving surgery. Having had almost had no prior experience of medical staff and hospitals, we were immediately faced with a long and uncertain road. Our journey since has led us through multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and relocating our family to Germany at 3 days notice to take advantage of treatment there. Throughout all of this, we were indebted to the multiple medical teams we encountered who supported Michael & us every step of the way, all in the midst of a pandemic and the restrictions it forced. At this point, we are glad to say there is no further treatment planned and life is taking a much more usual route of school, sport & other interests. While we want to thank all of those who supported us through this period, we are also very conscious that more families face this same journey & more help is needed. When we returned from Germany in 2021, we were aware of 3 more Irish families departing that same week for critical cancer treatment, and situations even where families could not travel due to pandemic restrictions. We are thankful every day of our current position & the treatment Michael received. The walk we are undertaking is St Patrick's Pilgrim Way between Armagh & Downpatrick over multiple days this Autumn. It is challenging but nothing compared to what Michael has endured through his treatment. To support us, please undertake your own walk or event for Childhood Cancer Awareness and these very worthy causes, and by simply clicking the Sign Up / Donate button above. All donations are processed securely. You can also share this page using Share options below. This is a great way to show your support, and we appreciate it. Thank you for your support,
