GP lowland search dog Riley trained for scent specific trailing, cadaver & HRD (human remains detection) will be carrying out cadaver dog demos.
Riley started training at just five months old and she spent 21 months in training.
Riley has carried out searches on behalf of An Garda Síochána, river rescue agencies & families of missing persons.
Riley has taken part in SSRA projects with UCD medical and veterinary students making this her fourth year to take part. All projects are documented scientific projects from historical human remains detection, odour proximity from a tidal river, detecting a human tooth in different substances and detecting human teeth burned in controlled fires at Dublin Fire Brigade Training Centre.
Riley achieved 100 percent hit rate through out the project’s.
Atlas will be coming tomorrow in his father Rocco’s place to meet and greet.
Atlas carried out 120 foundation training sessions before he went outside to learn to search.
Atlas is fully land trained as a cadaver dog, he is gaining operational experience in the field.
Atlas has successfully located graves 300-400 years old.
Atlas was introduced to the Slaney river on our search boat and he has successfully carried out two training sessions to date.
Operational cadaver dogs carry out a minimum of three training sessions per week.
