In sync - Youth Information Service The Youth Information Service is an educational process, which aims to empower young people to make informed decision and positive life choices

In Sync Youth Information Service provide a free, confidential information service to young people 15 to 25 years of age and those who work with them. The Youth Information Service is non-judgemental and free from discrimination. It operates a one stop shop approach where all the information is available under the one roof. We also support parents/guardians seeking information and support for young people. YIC Programme Work
The centre operates under the National Youth Information guidelines, and offers a unique approach to youth information in that the information team strive to animate the information through the development of programme work.

In Sync Youth Information Service offers one to one Driver Theory Test (DTT) mentoring support for young people aged 16–24.

Our aim is to help young people build the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to prepare for and pass their Driver Theory Test.

With support tailored to individual learning needs, we can help you understand the rules of the road, prepare for your test and take an important step towards greater independence.

📸 Youth Information Detective Challenge in Action! 🕵️
A huge shout out to the brilliant young people from In Sync Youth Information and Naas Youth Project who took part in our Youth Review Group!

In Sync Youth Information Service is currently applying for the ERYICA (European Youth Information and Counselling Agency) European Youth Information Quality Label.
As part of our self-assessment, six young people worked in two detective pairs, facilitated by Ger Cronin and Sinéad Ní Bhrolcháin, to put our Youth Information Service to the test.
Using the checklist Visuals, Language, Content, Format & Medium, they reviewed our information, services and communication, completed real life help seeking scenarios and took part in an evaluation. 🔍

Their valuable feedback has been included in our ERYICA Quality Label self-assessment submission, helping us ensure our information remains clear, welcoming, accessible, friendly and useful for young people. 💙

🎨✨ From Words to Wall Art! ✨🎨

Our Graffiti Art Workshop brought together young people from In Sync Youth Information and Naas Youth Project to explore what In Sync & Youth Information means to them through words, colours and images

Word Brainstorming: Young people selected their top three most powerful words representing In Sync & Youth Information: FUN, SUPPORTED & RESPECTED

Visual Mapping: They transformed their words into colours and images.

Working alongside Ger from Youth Info and Derek from Solus Street Art, they brought their ideas together to create one group-led mural design.

The result? An incredible youth-led graffiti mural now brightening up our Youth Information reception wall!

🧹✨ BACK TO SCHOOL. BACK TO YOUTH PROJECTS. BACK TO YOUTH INFO AND BACK TO CANAL STORES! ✨🧽

In preparation for welcoming young people back to our Youth Projects and Youth Information Service, the Canal Stores staff set aside a week for a full clean-up and refresh of the building.

It was all hands on deck as the team spent the week cleaning, sorting, recycling, painting, organising, repairing, and refreshing every corner of Canal Stores. From washing windows and painting walls to tidying resources, recycling old materials, and getting our spaces ready, there was no job too small or too big to tackle!

It was a great reminder that youth workers can turn their hand to almost anything when it comes to creating a safe, welcoming, and inspiring space for young people.

Our Youth Information Service also used the week to organise resources, update displays, prepare information materials, and get everything ready for a busy new school term.

We can't wait to welcome back our regular groups and meet all the new young people we connected with over the summer programmes.

Here's to a fresh start and an exciting year ahead at Canal Stores! 💙
