We are absolutely over the moon to be back up in the Silver medal category
Well done to all involved. We’ll be having an open meeting shortly to plan for 2025 and everyone is most welcome.
Congratulations 🎉to Ballincollig Tidy Towns on the overall win. We have met Tom Butler at so many events we are delighted for him & all in Ballincollig.

To celebrate Heritage Week 2024, local historian Tim Feen will hold a ‘History of Ardfield’ walk on 24th August. It is sure to be a very popular event.

After 3 rounds Ardfield is in a 4 way tie at the top of the Anti-litter Challenge! Final judging period will take place Monday 1st to Friday 5th July.
Let’s keep Ardfield litter free and in the running to win the challenge!

Galleyflash Rowing Club are holding an open day Galley Head Lighthouse from 12-5 tomorrow. Opportunity to see the lighthouse open to the public. A fantastic event for all the family

Unveiling our new walking trail display, which is displayed by the entrance to the picnic area. Stop by and see the beautiful walking routes you can take around Ardfield. The map shows areas of interest and also provide a guide of the the difficulty level for each route.
Thank you to Cork County Council for providing funding and to everyone who assisted in developing the map.

We’re really looking forwards to our next open day on Sunday 10th September, hosted by Galleyflash Rowing Club.

The open day starts at midday until 5pm, entry to lighthouse grounds is free, with a charge of €5 per person to visit the lighthouse tower. Due to safety reasons only those aged 10 or over may visit the tower. No need to prebook, just turn up on the day!

Car parking will be available nearby, with a pleasant walk to the lighthouse. A limited shuttle bus will also be operating.
Light refreshments will be available, and at 1pm & 3.30pm Galley Head lightkeeper Gerald Butler will be giving talks on lighthouse history (approx. 90 minutes in duration) in the lighthouse Gas House.

Our new picnic benches have been installed. To align with our sustainability initiatives, they are made from recycled materials. We hope you enjoy using them.

Thank you to Cork County Council and to everyone who assisted with fundraising efforts which helped to fund these benches.

If you are out for a stroll around Ardfield, you might notice new signs that have been added as part of our biodiversity plan.

Work has also commenced on a project in conjunction with Ardfield National School to develop a biodiversity garden area at the front of the school. The existing frog pond will also be enhanced to encourage wildlife.

Delighted to share that Ardfield and Kilmacsimon Village have been announced as small village joint winners of the KWD anti-litter challenge!
We progress to the County Final and judging will take place from July 10th - 14th.
