⚽ Match Report: Walshestown FC vs. Butterflies United (Friendly) 🦋
What a game today on the road at Walshestown! Under fantastic weather conditions, both teams delivered a high-tempo, competitive, and hugely entertaining friendly match.
From the first whistle, it was a proper contest with both sides really going at it. There was some lovely football played right across the pitch, with plenty of quality on display from both squads. In the end, a fair result was agreed by all—a great test and brilliant preparation for what’s ahead.
A massive thank you to Walshestown FC and Joey Smith for hosting us and putting on a great fixture. We’d like to wish Walshestown all the very best of luck for their upcoming season! 🤝

This game officially marks our last match of the year, and what an absolute year it has been for Butterflies United!💜
Looking back at where we started when we first set up the team in November 2025, to see how much we’ve grown to where we are now is nothing short of outstanding. Every single milestone, achievement, and victory along the way both big and small has meant the world to us.🦋
A massive thank you to each and every one of you for your incredible support throughout this journey. We couldn't do it without you!
Rest up, because next year is going to be EVEN bigger and better. Stay tuned... we're just getting started! 🩷💙💜

What a brilliant day at Drogheda United Park! ⚽️🦋

A massive thank you to Brotherhood Rising FC for traveling up to play us today. It was an absolute pleasure hosting such a fantastic group of lads, and we’re delighted to come away with the win after a great performance on the pitch!

We want to send a huge word of thanks to Drogheda United for letting us use their pitch and outstanding facilities to host today's game. Special appreciation goes out to Ian, the groundskeeper, for having the pitch in immaculate condition, and to Aoife for all her hard work behind the scenes organizing and bringing this all together.

We also have a few key shoutouts to make:

Martin Doonan for keeping everyone fuelled up with the delicious sandwiches! 🥪

Windmill House for having us today.

John Barry for kindly providing the medical bag to keep everyone sorted. 🩹

Finally, a massive thank you to all the lads for traveling up and making today such a success. Your commitment makes events like this possible!

📸 Note: This is only Part 1 of the photos—with so many great moments captured, we can only upload so many at once! Keep an eye on the page for Part 2 coming very soon! ⚽️🔥

One of our very own players made this video and spoke these words, and honestly, it sums up everything Butterflies United is about. 🦋⚽

When we pull on these shirts, it’s never just a game of football. Every single one of us carries someone special in our hearts—a child, a parent, a sibling, or a friend who should still be here with us.

As he says so beautifully, love doesn't die just because someone does. Every time we step onto that pitch, every goal, every laugh, and every tear is for them. They are never forgotten.

Please give this a listen, share it, and come out to stand with us this Saturday. 💙
