Castleknock Tidy Towns is an environmental, sustainability and climate action group which also undertakes community Clean Ups. Stay as long as you like.
Our volunteers work together to help make Castleknock a special place to live, work and enjoy. Our story so far...
Castleknock Tidy Towns was resurrected in March 2019, after a gap of 18 years. From April to the end of Sept volunteers meet each Saturday morning at 10am at Myo’s car park and spend two hours cleaning up around Castleknock village and its approach roads. You will see us out and abou
t in our high-vis jackets (with our orange wheelbarrows!). Then we retire together at 12 noon to Myo’s for a much-needed cuppa and sweet treats (on the house, in conjunction with the Silver Spoon café who provide scones and other goodies too). We even get home-baked goodies from some volunteers at times! On Wednesday evenings (7.30pm - 9pm) during the summer months, we meet in Myo’s car park for a ‘tidy up’ around the village. From Oct to Mar, we meet on the first Saturday of each month (except in Jan). We follow Government guidelines to keep people safe during Covid. All volunteers are welcome to come along. It’s on a ‘turn up, if you’re around and available basis’. No pressure! Check out our website, with all our stories and latest news: www.castleknocktidytowns.com or our Instagram page
Thanks so much for your support.

TY Students from St Vincent’s Castleknock College Complete Community Care Week with CTT
Three TY students from St Vincent’s Castleknock College successfully completed their Community Care Placement week with Castleknock Tidy Towns.
The students worked diligently from 9.00am to 3.30pm over four days, contributing enthusiastically to a wide range of CTT activities, including:
• Hedgerow planting with native Irish trees and primroses
• Tree planting
• Washing and maintaining the polytunnel
• Waterproofing new outdoor benches
• Bulb planting
• Hedge clipping
• Sorting and organising equipment
A sincere thank you to all the CTT volunteers who supported and guided the students throughout the week. ✨
And a big well done to the students themselves for giving their time, energy and care to their community and environment — making a real difference to community care and the environment. 💪

Give your Christmas tree a second life! 🎄
Once the holidays are over, don't let your natural tree go to waste. Recycling it contributes to the circular economy and keeps our community green. ♻️🌿
Find your local collection points or check recycling dates at Fingal County Council.

Five CTT Volunteers representing Castleknock Tidy Towns were delighted to attend the annual Volunteers Appreciation Evening and Fingal Volunteer Managing Awards 2025
A big congratulations to all the Volunteer groups who attended and were awarded for their dedication to voluntary and community activity, making meaningful contribution to the quality of life within their communities. Community volunteering remains a cornerstone of Ireland’s sustainable and connected society.
Castleknock Tidy Towns was delighted to receive the Fingal Managing Volunteers Award – Level 3 — a well-deserved acknowledgement of our work, commitment and progress over the past seven years.
This award is based on organisational structures and systems assessed across five key criteria: Training, Policy Development, Volunteer Roles, Provision of Training, and Recognition and Valuing of Volunteers. Comprehensive supporting documentation, policies, procedures and examples of good practices were submitted to demonstrate that all requirements were fully met.
We are especially proud to note that no other organisation has gone directly to Level 3, making this achievement all the more significant.
