Why not make your way down to Manulla FC this May Bank Holiday weekend and be part of something special as we celebrate 50 fantastic years! 🎉
It’s set to be a fun-filled weekend of entertainment for all the family. Kicking things off on Friday night, there’s a disco for the teens to get things started in style. Then on Saturday, the brilliant Ruaile Buaile take to the stage for what promises to be a cracking night of music, dancing, and great atmosphere.
And the fun doesn’t stop there—Sunday brings a fantastic Family Fun Day, packed with activities, laughter, and entertainment for all ages!
With raffles, great craic, and something for everyone all weekend long, it’s the perfect way to spend time with family and friends. Don’t miss out—come along and join the celebrations! 🎶🎊

Another fantastic evening at the Academy! 🎯

A huge thank you to Matt Murray and Kyle Canning for their time and support with the youths. The players really enjoyed the new training techniques introduced, and we’re excited to start incorporating these into our regular routine.

It has been a while since our last post — things have been extremely busy at the Western Arrows Darts Academy, and we couldn’t be prouder of our members! 🎯

Last week brought some fantastic moments, with James Larkin hitting his first 180 👊 — a brilliant achievement and hopefully the first of many!

We also had some of our members taking on some of the Mayo players, and they played exceptionally well. It’s great to see the progress, confidence and dedication from our young players.

The commitment and enthusiasm shown by everyone at the academy continues to be outstanding, and it’s a credit to all involved.

Just a reminder: The academy will be closed on Tuesday, 17th March for St. Patrick’s Day. ☘️

See you all again next week for more darts! 🎯

A little late with this week’s post — but what an incredible turnout!
We had an amazing 41 youths taking part in the academy, including an outstanding 8 out of 10 girls — fantastic to see!
Even with a few of our regulars missing, we are absolutely amazed and delighted with the numbers and enthusiasm shown. The energy, dedication, and passion on display continues to make these nights so special.

🎯 What a Journey It’s Been so far for Western Arrows! 🎯

Western Arrows officially opened in the last week of July 2025, starting out with just a handful of young players — many of whom were already proudly representing Mayo. Back then, we had six boards set up back-to-back, generously donated by Mayo Darts-Organisation, and a big dream.

Fast forward just six short months and wow… what a transformation!
We now boast over 35 members and 16 fixed dartboards — an incredible achievement in such a short space of time and a true testament to the passion and commitment of everyone involved.

👏 A massive thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way — for the donations, the encouragement, and especially the time and effort that helped get us to where we are today.

Special thanks must go to:

Judy Clarke, for warmly welcoming us into Manulla Community Centre

Shane McDonnell, who without fail has the hall perfectly set up for us every single week

Trish Mcgough, John Duffy, Lorraine Bullard, Fintan Corcoran, and Sean Flynn, who are always there coaching the youths and bringing real energy, fun, and life to the game of darts

And finally, a huge thank you to Ultan Mac Duibhir, for calling into the academy yesterday to throw a few darts with our youths. It was an exciting and inspiring visit, made even more special as Ultan, Conor Heneghan, and Sara Joyce proudly represent their country this weekend at the Islands International in Ennis, Co. Clare. Best of luck to you all — we’ll be cheering you on! 🇮🇪👏

Another fantastic night at Western Arrows Darts Academy! 🎯

We were delighted to welcome 5 new members and 6 trialists, making it a brilliant evening full of energy, enthusiasm, and talent. The potential and growing confidence on display was a pleasure to see, and it’s great to watch the academy continue to go from strength to strength.

The future is looking very bright — well done to everyone involved 👏
