Ballina Salmon Festival/Childrens Events and Eric O Sullivan all go hand In hand.
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our good friend and colleague for many years, Eric O’Sullivan.
I became involved in BSF/kiddies events through family tradition. Today speaking to my Aunt Elaine and my Mother Trisha about Erics passing I fully realised the Importance of family, continuity, tradition and connections.
Connections that traverse through several decades.
Connections that witnessed the birth of new ventures.
Connections that decades on, celebrate Eric and his wonderful foresight when he joined my granny Sheila at Tom Ruane Park with his one, rather unique at that time bouncy castle whilst she proffered a dozen hard boiled eggs, some spoons and some ragged turf sacks and somehow, the now infamous and somewhat special "Teddy Bears Picnic" evolved, grew, and became the household name it now is.
Our deepest sympathy to Barry, his family and extended family, his dedicated crew we offer our heartfelt sympathies and bid Eric a restful journey.
It has been our immense pleasure and honour to have been in you're circle.
God speed and rest easy
Lynda, Elaine and all of Sheila Kieran's family.
