Camphill Grangemockler

Camphill Grangemockler We are a community of adults with support needs, staff and international volunteers set on 50 acres in Co. Tipperary, Ireland.

Our community grew as an initiative of the local people in the surrounding area and was established in 1988, as a center where adults with special needs could live and work in a meaningful way. Residents, volunteers and employees work together to care for the community. We have many different workshops and these include the farm, the garden and the weavery. On the farm work includes tillage and lo

oking after the cows, pigs, sheep, chickens and geese. The farm provides us with our own eggs and meat. A large garden supplies us with vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers. Our weaving workshop uses mainly natural materials and produces many products for our own use and for sale. Our community has four houses each of them having their own personalities and fitting in to form the greater picture of the community. There are 4-5 residents living in each house with 3-4 international volunteers. Each house has a house co-coordinator and a key worker to help with the overall running of the house. Everyone is encouraged to take a responsible and active part in daily life in order to give each individual a meaningful and fulfilling life. In Camphill we believe that mutual support and respect for each other creates a healthy environment for healing and development.
