🚑 Carndonagh Community First Responders – We’re Back!

We’re looking forward to welcoming all our volunteers back after our short summer break! We can’t wait to see you all again, get training back underway and get ourselves up and running as soon as possible.

We’re also delighted to welcome new volunteers. So, if you’ve ever thought about getting involved, don’t be shy! You don’t need to know anything about first aid, CPR or emergency response. Everyone starts somewhere, and our instructors are extremely experienced and will support you every step of the way.

As they say, many hands make light work and the more volunteers we have, the more we can do for our local community. ❤️

📅 We’re back on Monday, 7th September at Spraoi agus Spórt.

Keep an eye on our page over the coming weeks, as we’ll be posting updates about training times and everything you need to know as we get closer to the date.

We’re also extremely grateful for any volunteers, sponsorship, donations or support from local businesses and members of our community. Whether you can give your time, sponsor us, donate equipment or simply support what we do, every bit makes a difference.

A massive thank you to everyone who has supported Carndonagh Community First Responders so far. We really appreciate the continued support from our community. ❤️

What can we say… what a fantastic day at the Clonmany Agricultural Show!

We had an incredible turnout, with so many people stopping by to watch the Carndonagh Community First Responders demonstrate CPR and other lifesaving skills. It was fantastic to see so much interest from the public, and we hope everyone who visited left with a little more knowledge and confidence about what they could do if they were ever faced with a medical emergency.

Although we are not yet responding to emergency call-outs, we are getting very close. Our volunteers are continuing to train regularly, developing the skills and confidence needed to provide the highest standard of care when we officially become operational. The support and encouragement we've received from the community is helping us move one step closer to that goal.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to stop, ask questions, and support us. Every conversation helps raise awareness, and every donation helps us continue preparing this vital voluntary service for our community.

A very special thank you to Inishowen Credit Union for inviting us along, providing us with a tent for the day, and for their very generous donation to our volunteer group. Your support is greatly appreciated and will help us continue to grow and prepare for the day we begin responding to emergencies.

Thank you also to Highland radio for giving us the opportunity to speak on air and help spread awareness of the work we do. Chris represented the Carndonagh Community First Responders brilliantly, and we are incredibly proud of how well he spoke about our group.
To all of our volunteers who gave up their time today to demonstrate CPR, choking interventions, and other lifesaving techniques—thank you. Your commitment, enthusiasm, and willingness to educate others is what makes this group so special.

Finally, a huge thank you to the organisers of the Clonmany Agricultural Show. Year after year they put on a fantastic event, attracting huge crowds, and we are grateful to have been part of it.

Thank you to everyone who supported us today. Your generosity and encouragement mean so much. Every euro raised goes directly back into training, equipment, and preparing our volunteers, ensuring that when Carndonagh Community First Responders officially go live, we'll be ready to provide the best possible service to our community.

If you're out and about today, make sure to call in to the Clonmany Agricultural Show! It's set to be a fantastic day and has grown into one of the biggest agricultural shows in Ireland.

Carndonagh Community First Responders will be there from 1:30pm to 3:30pm, and we're delighted that Highland Radio will be chatting with us In the Inishowen Credit Union tent about who we are, what we do, the training we've been undertaking, and our goal of becoming an active Community First Responder group serving our local area.

Throughout the afternoon, our volunteers will be taking part in live demonstrations, including CPR, chest compressions, and the Heimlich manoeuvre. Many of these volunteers had never performed these lifesaving skills before joining us, but thanks to the dedication of our volunteers and the excellent guidance from our experienced trainers, their confidence continues to grow with every training session.

We're now entering the final stages of our training and hope to complete it over the coming weeks to months. As a volunteer group, funding is a vital part of everything we do. It allows us to keep our equipment up to date, maintain and expand our training, and ensure we can continue to provide a reliable service to the community. Any support we receive goes directly back into the group and helps us grow and improve.

So if you're at the show, please call over and say hello. We'd love to see you! It's all about the community supporting the community and people helping people. Your support means a great deal to us, and we look forward to meeting you between 1:30pm and 3:30pm.

A huge thank you to Heart Of Foyle Community First Responders,Derry , and especially to Sean, Wilma, Connor and Caroline, for taking the time to come down and spend the evening with Carndonagh Community First Responders .

Thank you for sharing your experience, knowledge and stories with us the good times, the difficult times, and everything in between. Hearing about your first call-outs, the nerves you experienced at the beginning, the challenges you faced, and how you pulled together as a team to support your community was both inspiring and reassuring.

Your willingness to share your experiences and practical knowledge was greatly appreciated. We all took something away from the evening, and it has given our volunteers a better understanding of what to expect as we continue our training journey.

Our volunteers also gained invaluable experience throughout the evening. Having an ambulance on site gave everyone the opportunity to see first-hand how it is set up, where essential emergency equipment is stored, and how items can be accessed if required during an emergency. We were shown the different machines, equipment and resources that may be needed when responding to incidents, giving our volunteers a much better understanding of what may be involved in the future when we are out serving our own community.

A massive thank you also to our instructors, our volunteers and our committee members who continue to give up their time and put in so much work behind the scenes to help get this group established. The group is really starting to come together, and it's fantastic to see the teamwork, friendships and confidence growing with every training session.

We are still working hard with our training and hopefully it won't be long before we are ready to respond within our community.

As a new group, funding is a vital part of our development. If anyone would like to support us through donations or sponsorship, whether big or small, we would be extremely grateful. Every bit of support helps us purchase the equipment and resources needed to provide this service.

We are also always looking for new volunteers. Whether you have no experience or years of experience, everyone is welcome. Everyone starts somewhere, and full training and support will be provided. There is a place for everyone who wants to help their community.

Thank you again to Sean, Wilma, Connor and Caroline, and everyone at Heart of the Foyle Community First Responders Derry, for your time, support and encouragement. We truly appreciate you helping us on our journey.

Community helping community. ❤️🚑

đź’™ Thank You, Inishowen Credit Union! đź’™

We are incredibly grateful to Inishowen Credit Union for awarding €2,000 to Carndonagh Community First Responders through their Community Fund.

This generous funding will make a real difference to our voluntary group, helping us purchase essential lifesaving equipment and continue developing our service for the people of Carndonagh and the local community.

As a newly established voluntary organisation, we are currently still undergoing training and are not yet operational. Our volunteers continue to work hard to complete their training, and we hope to be active and responding to emergency calls within the coming weeks to months. Support like this gives us the resources we need to prepare for that day and ensure we are equipped to provide the highest standard of care.

A sincere thank you to everyone at Inishowen Credit Union for believing in our vision and investing in the health and wellbeing of our community. We are honoured to receive this support and look forward to putting it to great use.

Finally, thank you to everyone in our community for your continued encouragement and support. We can't wait to be in a position to give back by serving our community when we're called upon.

Thank you for helping us take another important step towards making a difference. ❤️🚑

A massive congratulations and thank you to the Carndonagh Agricultural Show for giving us the opportunity to attend and demonstrate some of the vital skills we are training in as Carndonagh First Responders.

Throughout the day, members of the public were able to see demonstrations of CPR, chest compressions, what to do if someone is choking, including the Heimlich manoeuvre, and other lifesaving techniques. These demonstrations were carried out by our volunteers who are currently in training and were led by professional paramedics with firsthand experience, who are also our dedicated trainers and supervisors.

A huge well done to all of our volunteers who collected donations at the SuperValu roundabout at the bottom of Malin Street, Carndonagh, and to those who spent the day in our tent at the show, raising awareness about what Carndonagh First Responders is all about.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who stopped by, donated, supported us, and encouraged our volunteers. Your generosity and support mean so much and will help us continue our training.

Congratulations to Teresa Doherty from Malin Head, along with her granddaughters Holly and Emma Glackin, who were the lucky winners of our wonderful raffle hamper. We hope you enjoy it!

Thank you once again to everyone who supported us. Your kindness and encouragement are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to completing our training so that we can begin serving our community as Carndonagh First Responders.

Hi folks! We're down at the Carndonagh Agricultural Show today supporting the Carndonagh Community First Responders, who are currently in training.

We're holding a collection in our tent, and we also have a fantastic hamper up for raffle, with tickets available at a very reasonable price. Every penny raised will go towards essential training and equipment needed to help us respond safely and effectively to emergency calls once we're fully qualified.

We'll also be doing some short demonstrations throughout the day, including CPR and chest compressions, so come along, say hello, and learn something that could one day help save a life.

We'd really appreciate your support, and we'd like to thank the Carndonagh Agricultural Show committee for kindly allowing us to be part of today's event.

Good luck to everyone taking part, and we hope you all have a fantastic day!
