We remember 103 years ago on this day - 12th of March 1923, when Dan Shea, John Sugrue, Eugene Dwyer , William Riordan and Michael Courtney, were taken from their cell in Bahaghs Caherciveen by members of the Free State Army and murdered a short distance away by the side of a lonely road...

On the 12th of this month we remember the 12th of March 1923 when Dan Shea, John Sugrue, Eugene Dwyer , William Riordan and Michael Courtney, were taken from their cell in Bahaghs Caherciveen by members of the Free State Army , driven a short distance to a roadblock that contained a mine, the prisoners were told to get out and remove the roadblock, they were then shot in the legs first, the free State officers then detonated the mine killing all 5 men.
