The Clare Crusaders Children’s Charity was founded in 2005 by a group of parents to provide much needed therapy to Children with Special Needs in areas such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Down Syndrome and other conditions. The Clare Crusaders Children’s Clinic located in Barefield, Co. Clare is run on a voluntary basis and provides a variety of therapies to 450+ children in the Clare Region. The s
ervices are free of charge and include speech therapy, occupational therapy, special education and physiotherapy. The Clare Crusaders does not receive government funding and relies on fundraising and donations to generate the €250,000 required each year to maintain our existing services. What services do the Clare Crusaders Provide? Our clinic is based in Barefield, Co. Clare with 8 staff and we currently provide a range of services to 450+ children. Children’s ages range from 0 – 18 years and we provide the following services:
· Speech & Language Therapy
· Physiotherapy
· Occupational Therapy
· School going children as seen and treated in many of the schools throughout Clare
· Group sessions and activity which promote social skills and social outings
· Promotional of health and sports e.g. In addition to working with children we offer support and information to parents to allow them to take the necessary steps to secure the best help and services they can get for their children and sometimes themselves. All of the above services are provided free of charge. The response form parent has been overwhelmingly positive and we are happy to report significant improvement in several kids receiving hands on therapies. This is an expensive commitment and requires continuing support to ensure its long term success.
