Your Pathway to Forestry Graduate Studies at UGM : Mastering AcEPT & PAPs, Admissions, and Academic Readiness

On Friday, May 8th, 2026, IFSA LC UGM successfully held EPIC Workshop & Test: “Your Pathway to Forestry Graduate Studies at UGM: Mastering AcEPT & PAPs, Admissions, and Academic Readiness” organized by the Language Commission and HRD Commission of IFSA LC UGM 2025 ✨

The event was carried out smoothly from the start to finish. Participants gained valuable insights through sessions on Master’s and Doctoral admissions pathways, AcEPT preparation, as well as PAPs preparation, technical guidance, and question discussions followed by interactive Q&A sessions. The excitement of the event was also ignited by an interactive quiz session that encouraged participants to actively engage throughout the workshop 🎉

Following the workshop sessions, participants also took part in the AcEPT and PAPs test as an opportunity to experience the test environment and further evaluate their preparation for graduate studies 📚

We would like to express our gratitude to all speakers, committee members, and participants for their enthusiasm and contribution throughout the event. We hope this workshop and test series will support and encourage participants in preparing for their   future academic journey.

[MID-YEAR LC MEETING (MYLM) 2026]

Every journey reaches a summit where we pause for a while. Not to stay still, but to see how far we have climbed and how wide the horizons ahead can still unfold. ✨

As we stand at the halfway point of this presidency, Mid-Year LC Meeting (MYLM) 2026 becomes our moment to reflect on the paths we have taken, evaluate the progress we have made, and unfold new horizons for the journey ahead. Through every achievement, challenge, and lesson learned together, this meeting serves as a summit where all voices and perspectives come together to shape a stronger future for IFSA LC UGM.

Carrying the theme “Unfolding Horizons Through Halfway Summit,” MYLM 2026 will unite the Board of Directors, Heads of Commissions, Project Officers, Delegates, and all active members of IFSA LC UGM through presentations, performance reports, discussions, and evaluations for the continuation of this presidency. MYLM is a space where we will reflect, reconnect, and continue unfolding new perspectives for the remainder of this presidency 🌄

From the loss of pollinators to collapsing ecosystems, biodiversity is the invisible system that keeps Earth alive. Bees, forests, oceans, soil microorganisms, and millions of interconnected species all play a role in providing food, clean water, oxygen, climate stability, and human survival.

This International Day for Biological Diversity, let’s reflect on how important nature truly is before it’s too late. Because protecting biodiversity means protecting our future. 🌱

[IFSA Pedia #1: Who Will Move First? The Quiet Tragedy of Human-Elephant Conflict]

The Sumatran elephant is more than just an icon, they are "ecosystem engineers" responsible for seed dispersal, nutrient cycling, and maintaining the very forest structures we study. Yet, with a 50% population decline in just two decades and up to 90% habitat loss, we are witnessing a systemic failure in spatial governance.

The "Quiet Tragedy" of Human-Elephant Conflict (HEC) is our professional litmus test. We cannot rely on short-term fixes like firecrackers that simply push the problem to the next village. We need landscape scale strategies, habitat restoration, wildlife corridors, and institutional synergy.

Will we move toward sustainable coexistence or watch the engineers of our forests disappear?
