NoticeAbility NoticeAbility is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students with dyslexia thrive by identifying their unique strengths and building self-esteem.

Join our Newsletter: https://www.noticeability.org/newsletter/ Inspired by the neuroscientific discoveries presented in 'The Dyslexic Advantage: Unlocking the Hidden Potential of the Dyslexic Brain' (Eide, Fernette F. and Brock L., New York: Penguin Group, 2012. Print), NoticeAbility’s curricula provides authentic inquiry experiences in vocational subject matters that cater to the neurological strengths of dyslexic students: entrepreneurship, engineering, architecture and the arts. NoticeAbility utilizes the multiple-modalities available through e-learning (video instruction, graphical aids and audio presentations) and combines them with federal ‘Plain Language’ guidelines and universal design learning methodology (UDL). The result is a fully accessible, strength based curricula that embraces dyslexic students in ways that traditional text-based teaching cannot. Blended delivery (e-learning with facilitated, in-person guidance) enables NoticeAbility to facilitate student development along two essential dimensions. First, interpersonal collaboration and team-building exercises foster social-emotional proficiency and, thus, the ability to make good decisions, manage emotions, self-advocate and build successful relationships. Second, NoticeAbility’s use of executive functioning methodology enables its students to build upon their neurologically based skills, prioritize scholastic demands, and, in general, increase their chance of academic success.

Today marks a proud milestone as Bodhi begins his collegiate journey…stepping into a prestigious program with the exact accommodations and confidence he deserves.

When we empower dyslexic minds with the right support systems, there’s no limit to where their talent can take them. Excited and incredibly proud to share this moment with you all.

Wishing all students and families an empowering start to the new school year! 🧠

Big picture first. Details second. 🌍💡

I had a realization about my own dyslexic mind recently, and I’m curious if any of you experience this too (or if I’m just getting older…be nice in the comments! 😉)

If you’ve ever felt discouraged when someone starts explaining a concept from the micro level, you’re not alone! The dyslexic brain is built for macro processing.

Think of it like Google Earth: give us the global view first, then let us zoom into the neighborhood. 📍

How does your brain best receive new information? 👇

THIS is the analogy that every student with dyslexia needs to hear.

School sucks. But the 16 years you spend struggling through a system that wasn’t built for how you think? That’s the broccoli.

The chocolate cake (studying what you love, working in what you’re good at, becoming the kind or relentless, creative workers that people with dyslexia so often are) comes after.

Hang in there. The cake is coming. 🍰

Dyslexia is so much more than a learning difference. It’s a unique processing style packed with incredible cognitive strengths. 💡🧠

When we shift the conversation from challenges to potential, we unlock what dyslexic individuals are truly capable of.

And when provided with the right tools, these strengths become superpowers in and out of the classroom.

Which of these strengths do you connect with most? 👇

One of our biggest takeaways? 👇

Indonesia has a deep-rooted tradition of embracing diversity, and we believe the next, most necessary evolution of that tradition is the radical inclusion of the neurodivergent mind.

We thank all of our incredible partners on the ground, and YOU for following along our journey.

Lately, we’ve been discussing how to use AI in the learning process for students with dyslexia.

There’s a lot of talk out there about what AI shouldn’t do (like writing your essays for you)…but let’s focus on what it can do to support your dyslexic advantages. 🧠

In Bodhi’s experience? Linear tasks like formatting bibliography citations can drain energy fast. That’s where AI becomes the ultimate tool.

By outsourcing the tedious details that don’t align with your cognitive style, you save your mental bandwidth for the things you excel at: creative thinking, problem-solving, and crafting a fire conclusion. 🎙️🔥

How have you, your kids, or your students been experimenting with AI tools in your study routine lately? Let us know below 👇

Candor, Episode 2: The AI Shortcut vs. The Dyslexic Advantage

Is AI making us smarter, or is it cutting corners where it matters most? 🤖💡

In this episode of the Candor Series, the is weighing in on how they actually use AI in school and strike the balance between utilizing a tool and maintaining your greatest strengths.

Let’s talk in the comments: Is AI an empowering tool for your mind, or is it a crutch? How do you use it intentionally?

👇 Drop your perspective below and let us know where you stand.

The truth about our work is that every country, city, and community has its own deeply rooted relationship with dyslexia.

Walking into these massive institutions in Indonesia was an incredible reminder of that. It has presented an interesting (and exciting) opportunity for us to learn how to bridge the gap between global dyslexia strategies and local cultural nuances. 🌎🧠

Often, to teach effectively, you have to be the student first. 🇮🇩

For the educators and advocates: how do you approach tailoring your strategies when stepping into a new cultural environment? What approaches have worked best for you? 👇

We were lucky enough to be invited to Malang to speak about Dyslexia 2.0 and discuss how we can build inclusive classrooms where neurodiverse students can thrive. 🧠

Right from the wonderful welcome dance to the incredible energy in the room, the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) blew us away.

We are deeply grateful to and the UMM faculty for welcoming us so graciously (and gifting us the incredible blazer and hat!) 💼🤝

To every educator and parent in the auditorium, thank you for your passion and commitment to changing the narrative around dyslexia.

Terima kasih! 🇮🇩
