HKCHAM Joins HKGCC Delegation Luncheon in Jakarta | 25 September 2026

Jakarta, 25 September 2026 — The Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (HKCHAM) was honoured to be invited to join a luncheon with the delegation of the *Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) in Jakarta on 25 September 2026, during HKGCC’s visit to Indonesia.

The luncheon brought together representatives of HKGCC, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO), the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), HKCHAM and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (INACHAMHK). Among the representatives were Mr. Patrick Yeung, Chief Executive Officer of HKGCC; Mr. Stanley Wan, Deputy Director (Commercial Relations) at HKETO in Jakarta; Mr. Horasis Lung, Director of Indonesia at HKTDC; and Mr. Brian Chan, Vice President of INACHAMHK.

HKCHAM was represented by Vice Presidents Mr. Timothy Chang and Dr. Andrew Sutedja, together with Board Members Mr. Wijaya Surya, Mr. William Widjaja and Mr. Michael Chan.

For HKCHAM, being invited to participate in this distinguished gathering was a significant honour and an important recognition of its role in connecting the Hong Kong and Indonesian business communities. The occasion provided an opportunity for HKCHAM to exchange views with leading Hong Kong business and trade institutions, strengthen institutional relationships and further promote Hong Kong–Indonesia commercial cooperation.

HKGCC’s Indonesia visit, as part of its broader ASEAN business mission, further highlighted the growing importance of Indonesia as a key market for Hong Kong businesses. HKCHAM looks forward to working closely with HKGCC, HKETO, HKTDC, INACHAMHK and other partners to facilitate business connections, investment opportunities and stronger economic ties between Hong Kong and Indonesia.

It was a great honour for HKCHAM to be invited to join HKGCC in Jakarta and to represent the Hong Kong business community in Indonesia on this important occasion.

HKCHAM at the 2026 Belt & Road Global Forum Annual Roundtable at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

On 11 September 2026, the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (HKCHAM) was pleased to participate in the 2026 Belt & Road Global Forum Annual Roundtable in Hong Kong, represented by Mr. Suwito, Chairman of HKCHAM.

The Roundtable brought together representatives of chambers of commerce, business associations and organisations from Hong Kong, Mainland China and international markets for high-level dialogue and exchange on strengthening connectivity and advancing opportunities for cooperation under the Belt and Road framework.

HKCHAM’s participation reflects our continued commitment to fostering meaningful engagement between the Hong Kong and Indonesian business communities, while contributing to broader regional and international business dialogue.

As economic ties across Asia continue to deepen, platforms such as the Annual Roundtable provide an important avenue for:

• Strengthening institutional and business-to-business connections
• Facilitating dialogue on trade, investment and economic cooperation
• Sharing perspectives and insights across markets
• Identifying opportunities for greater regional collaboration and connectivity

A New Chapter for the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia

The Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (HKCHAM) proudly marked the official inauguration of our Chamber at the Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta, bringing together government representatives, business leaders, chambers, members, and strategic partners.

We sincerely thank everyone who joined us to celebrate this important milestone and support our mission to strengthen Hong Kong–Indonesia business cooperation.

The evening provided a valuable platform for dialogue on trade, investment, and business opportunities. Suwito, Chairman of HKCHAM, together with Libera Cheng, Director-General of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office Jakarta, and Mr Horasis Lung, Director of the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council, highlighted the importance of partnership and Hong Kong’s role as a SuperConnector linking Hong Kong, Mainland China, Indonesia, and international markets.

We were also pleased to hear valuable perspectives from Dr. Ali Murtopo Simbolon of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and Daniel Ginting of Danantara Indonesia on Indonesia’s economic potential and investment opportunities.

Our appreciation also goes to Tony Sham from Cathay Pacific, Ainsley Mann MBE from Swire Investment, Pak Lam Brian Chan from INACHAM HONG KONG, and Stephen Kasima from HSBC Indonesia for contributing to the panel discussion and sharing their experience in Indonesia.

🇭🇰🇨🇳🇮🇩 Strengthening Connections, Building a Platform for Future Exchange

On the evening of 27 August, the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (HKCHAM) and INACHAMHK held a meaningful meeting with a delegation representing the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council (OCAO) from Guangdong, together with representatives of the Perkumpulan Guangfu Indonesia.

The meeting brought together representatives from four parties:

The meeting marked an important step towards establishing a more concrete communication and exchange mechanism among the four parties.

Moving forward, the parties aim to strengthen regular interaction and cooperation, with particular attention to creating opportunities for the younger generation and facilitating greater connections between businesses and enterprises in Indonesia and China.

Through stronger communication, shared networks and meaningful engagement, we look forward to building a platform that connects communities, encourages collaboration, and supports the next generation of cross-border business relationships.

Strengthening Connections with Hong Kong’s Leading Enterprises 🇭🇰🇮🇩

On 27 August, the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (HKCHAM) paid an official visit to Cathay Pacific Indonesia Headquarters at Indonesia Stock Exchange Tower.

The delegation was led by HKCHAM Chairman Suwito, together with Vice President Timothey, Board Members Michael Chan and Hugo Chan, and Director of HKTDC, Horasis Lung.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Tony Sham, Country Manager of Cathay Pacific Indonesia.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for HKCHAM to strengthen its engagement with one of Hong Kong’s most internationally recognised enterprises and to exchange perspectives on business development, connectivity, and the growing relationship between Hong Kong and Indonesia.
