Lino Marendeng Production (LMP) was originally founded on the 5th of November 2012 by Aryagandhi Jennifer Palembangan. Later on, she decided to team up with her friends Prima Bhakti Putra and Adda Pukta Maria to do a project for their graduate thesis and promote Toraja culture at the "Salon du Chocolat 2013" chocolate festival in Marseille, France. The project was successful and gained wonderful f
eedback from the audiences. Since then LMP has become an official platform for young talented Torajanese to perform at the International level. In the current era of globalization, Lino Marendeng Production realizes the importance of creating and innovating fresh ideas and concepts that can help preserve the Indonesian cultural heritage. Lino Marendeng Production feels that there is a duty to fulfill, which is to maintain Indonesian culture’s legacy that should be passed on to our future generation. As the world becomes more modern because of the advanced technology that we have today, many Indonesians, especially the young ones, are also rapidly leaving, ignoring, or even forgetting their traditions. Lino Marendeng Production sees that the lack of attention towards preserving the Indonesian cultural heritage can become an identity crisis in the future if people do not honor and cherish their heritage from now. In other words, Lino Marendeng Production wants to encourage Indonesians to acknowledge and to love their culture. They also want to persuade the young people to be more concerned about the condition of what is left of the Indonesian's culture.
