Another Whale Lost in Bali Waters.
(05/05/2026) A female s***m whale, around 15 meters long, has died after stranding at Anyar Sari Beach, Melaya. She was found alive. She didn’t make it.
Officials point to low tide as the main factor. Bali’s waters are getting louder, busier, and more stressed every year. Boat traffic, underwater noise, coastal development, and shifting ecosystems all play a role in disorienting marine life long before they end up on our shores.
Rescue teams did what they could on the ground. But response alone isn’t enough if the bigger picture stays the same. If we keep treating the ocean like an endless resource and transit lane, this won’t be the last time we’re posting something like this.
