💡 Digital solutions and AI for better employability service: on 23–24 September 2026, the Smart Jobs partnership continued its work in Rome with a Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA) dedicated to digital solutions and tools supporting job seekers and new hires.

Partners from across Europe presented and exchanged best practices from their countries, exploring how digital technologies and AI can support onboarding, employability and career guidance. Each partner contributed examples of existing tools and approaches, creating a shared pool of practices that will also serve as a benchmark for the development of the future Smart Jobs Chatbot.

The programme was enriched by external experts invited by the Italian partners, who presented experiences and perspectives from the Italian context.

We were particularly pleased to welcome Giovanni Franco from the Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. His participation also highlighted the institutional relevance of the topics addressed by Smart Jobs and the Ministry’s recognition of the importance of the project and its objectives.

The LTTA gave us the opportunity to look beyond our own national experiences, exchange practical solutions and explore how new technologies can contribute to more effective and accessible support for people entering or re-entering the labour market.

The practices collected in Rome will now be brought together in a common report and used to support the next stages of Smart Jobs.

The first Transnational Project Meeting of the Smart Jobs project took place in Rome, Italy, between 21–23 September 2026, bringing together representatives of the partner organisations to review our progress and prepare for the next stages of the project.

With Smart Jobs now well underway, the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the results of the research and focus groups conducted in the partner countries. Among the common challenges identified were gaps in onboarding practices, including unclear roles and expectations, limited feedback and mentoring, digital overload and the need for more inclusive approaches.

A major part of the meeting was dedicated to planning the upcoming National Hackathons, which will bring together participants in Hungary, Italy and the Netherlands to develop and explore new ideas related to employability and onboarding.

Partners also worked on the next major Smart Jobs results: a renewed Competency Framework and Curriculum for Employability and Career Guidance Professionals, integrating digital competences, AI, critical thinking and responsible AI use.

Another important topic was the development of the Smart Jobs Chatbot and its accompanying micro-learning materials, which will provide practical support to job seekers and new hires. The project plans to develop five hours of micro-learning content, including 60 animated videos available with subtitles in all partner languages.

Three productive days of discussion, planning and cooperation – and plenty of work ahead as we move towards the next phase of Smart Jobs!

🇦🇹 Healthy Traditions kicks off: between 4–11 September 2026, five representatives from the Austrian Association for Cultural Relations and EMINA Foundation came together in Zell am See, Austria, for the kick-off meeting of Healthy Traditions.

The meeting marked the start of our cooperation on connecting Austrian and Hungarian culinary heritage with healthier eating, sustainability and non-formal learning.

🍽️ The project combines research into food traditions, local cooking workshops and digital storytelling, leading to a free, interactive cookbook in three languages.

As the Hungarian partner, EMINA contributes its experience in youth work and non-formal education and organises activities that bring young people closer to the stories, skills and traditions behind food.

Next up: our first local activities at two Hungarian food festivals this autumn. Stay tuned!

🌍 EMINA Career Guidance Foundation joined the 11th edition of Cross Over for Impact, an annual international event supporting organisations in developing high-quality and sustainable long-term projects (Erasmus+ KA2 Partnerships for Cooperation).

Held in Riga, Latvia, from 14 to 19 September 2026, the training brought together organisations from across Europe interested in making their projects more relevant, needs-tailored and impactful. The programme focused on responding to current challenges in the youth field, strengthening project quality and building the capacities of organisations and youth workers.

💡 A particular added value was the involvement of nine Erasmus+ National Agencies. Their representatives actively contributed to the programme as experts, providing tailored guidance on ongoing projects and supporting organisations in shaping new project ideas and partnerships more effectively.

🤝 Cross Over for Impact also created a valuable space for networking and peer learning. Participants had the opportunity to discover the work of organisations active across the European youth field, exchange experiences and approaches, and establish connections for future cooperation.

EMINA is glad to bring the new knowledge, ideas and partnerships developed in Riga into its future work and international cooperation.

🎨 Do you work in a creative field? Take a few minutes to share your experience!

EMINA Career Guidance Foundation, together with its partners, is currently developing DIGI-BRAVE – Creative Awareness in the Age of AI, a new Erasmus+ project idea exploring how artificial intelligence is changing the realities of young people working in creative professions.

As AI tools become increasingly present in design, content creation and other creative industries, they bring new opportunities but also challenges related to skills, employment, intellectual property, creative confidence and adapting to a rapidly changing digital environment.

To make sure the future project responds to real needs, the partnership is currently collecting input from young people aged 18-30 working in creative fields, including:

🎨 Graphic and digital designers
📱 Digital content creators
✍️ Writers and copywriters
📸 Photographers and videographers
🎬 Video editors and animators
🖌️ Illustrators and digital artists
💻 Freelancers and other young creative professionals

If you work in a creative field, we would greatly appreciate 10-15 minutes of your time to complete the online survey. Your experience will help identify how AI is affecting creative work and what skills and support young professionals actually need.

AI-supported onboarding in SMEs: from a well-designed process to smarter HR

When a small organisation hires a new employee, HR teams often have to manage onboarding alongside everything else: documents need to be prepared, information needs to be shared, training needs to be arranged, managers need to be involved. And the same questions often come up again and again.

This is where AI-supported onboarding can make a practical difference.

⚠️There is an important step before introducing AI: the onboarding process needs to be clear and well organised first.
Once the responsibilities, information, steps and learning needs are properly structured, AI can help SMEs take the process further.

It can support:
⚡ Faster access to information and answers
🎯 Personalised onboarding and learning content
📊 Identification of skills and knowledge gaps
⏰ Automated reminders and routine communication
🔄 More consistent onboarding across employees
📉 Less repetitive administrative work for HR

For SMEs in particular, a well-designed AI-supported onboarding process can help a small HR team provide a more structured experience without creating more administrative work.

💡And there is no need to automate everything. The aim is to let technology handle repetitive and information-heavy tasks while HR professionals and managers focus on communication, support and integration.

First build a good onboarding process, then let AI help you make it better.

The Smart Jobs Project has explored the opportunities and challenges of AI-supported onboarding for SMEs in its latest article.

On 1 July 2026, the Smart Jobs project brought together 12 participants from Hungary, Italy and the Netherlands for a roundtable discussion in Brussels. Building on findings from national focus groups, participants explored how organisations can make onboarding more structured, inclusive and responsive to the needs of new employees.

The discussion highlighted several common challenges, including unclear responsibilities, insufficient mentoring, limited feedback and the gap between expectations created during recruitment and the reality experienced in the workplace. Participants agreed that onboarding should be understood not merely as an administrative procedure, but as a strategic, relational and learning-oriented process that influences employees’ confidence, sense of belonging, performance and retention.

Digital tools and AI can improve access to information and support practical, step-by-step learning. However, one conclusion was clear: technology should complement - not replace - the human support provided by managers, mentors, buddies and colleagues.

The findings will guide the development of the next Smart Jobs outputs, including an updated competence framework, curriculum, training programme, chatbot and micro-learning materials for professionals involved in onboarding.

What a wonderful afternoon! 🎨 Yesterday, EMINA Foundation organised the Carry Your Colours tote bag painting workshop in Budapest as the local follow-up activity of the ART WELL Erasmus+ project's training course.

Participants transformed plain cotton tote bags into unique, hand-painted creations while exploring creativity, mindfulness and self-expression in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It was inspiring to see so many different ideas come to life, proving once again that art is for everyone - regardless of previous experience.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made the workshop such a positive and creative experience! We hope you'll carry your colourful creations with pride and take a little inspiration from the day with you wherever you go.

🇪🇺 The local follow-up activity of the ART WELL Erasmus+ project was co-funded by the European Union.

EMINA Foundation is delighted to share the new publication, "Art Activities for Youth Mental Health", developed as part of the ArtWell project.

This book brings together 16 practical, tested, and accessible group art activities that were first implemented locally by the project partners and then compiled into one collection of best practices. The activities are designed to support young people's emotional well-being, self-awareness, resilience, and social connection through creativity.

Developed through the collaboration of organisations from 🇦🇹 Austria, 🇨🇿 Czechia, 🇭🇺 Hungary, and 🇺🇦 Ukraine, the booklet combines non-formal education, artistic practice, and research-based insights into a valuable resource for youth workers, educators, trainers, artists, and community organisations.

Inside, you may find 16 art-based activities ranging from painting, storytelling, journaling, and movement to filmmaking, clay work, and creative writing.
