I went to a place for an interview, but there was literally nowhere to sit. I ended up getting there almost an hour early. (Normally I try to arrive about 30 minutes ahead of time to get a feel for the place and calm myself down, but this time I overestimated the traffic and that’s how it turned out.) I walked around for a while looking for somewhere to sit, but couldn't find anything, so I stepped outside. In the middle of a residential complex, I spotted a little terrace and sat down there instead.
As I started looking around, this painting caught my eye. I’ve seen Christmas trees so many times before, but somehow this one felt unusually warm and comforting. I imagined drawing it and thought, “They must’ve spent such a nice time together,” and “They were probably laughing.” I stood there for a bit, just looking at it and feeling happy, and then I took a photo.

Je suis allé à un endroit pour un entretien, mais il n’y avait littéralement nulle part où s’asseoir. Je suis arrivé presque une heure en avance. (D’habitude, j’essaie d’arriver environ 30 minutes avant pour m’imprégner du lieu et me calmer, mais cette fois-ci j’ai surestimé le trafic, et c’est comme ça que je me suis retrouvé là si tôt.) J’ai marché un moment en cherchant un endroit où m’asseoir, sans rien trouver, alors je suis sorti. Au milieu d’un complexe résidentiel, j’ai remarqué une petite terrasse et je me suis installé là.
En regardant autour de moi, cette peinture a attiré mon attention. J’ai vu des sapins tellement de fois, mais celui-ci dégageait quelque chose de particulièrement chaleureux et réconfortant. Je me suis imaginé le dessiner et j’ai pensé “ Ils ont dû passer un très bon moment ensemble” et “Ils riaient sûrement” . Je suis resté là un instant, simplement à regarder, en me sentant heureux, puis j’ai pris une photo.
