What do Cuddles and Meditations have in Common?
You may have seen that this season's Cuddle Workshops centre around the topic of Meditations, and you may wonder: What do cuddles and meditations have to do with each other?
You may know me, Viktória, who is leading the Cuddle Workshops in Budapest, as a hypnotherapist, and you may also ask: What do those three things: hypnosis, cuddles, and meditations, have to do with each other?
All of these may bring about an altered state of consciousness, which also triggers the relaxation response in the body: heart rate, breathing rate slows down and the nervous system calms. Our participants often say that they felt like "in a trance" during and even after the workshop. Or as the teenage daughter of a friend once put it: "That's when the adults go high, but without using any substances."
Cuddling releases oxytocin, the "happiness hormone" that is responsible for the serene, peaceful feeling also known to meditators. While this is very pleasant and good for your health, there is more to these workshops.
Here, we learn to give and receive platonic touch mindfully. Like in mindfulness meditation. This teaches us to be fully present, not just in body, but also in mind and soul. It deepens not only our relationships with others but also brings us closer to our true, authentic Self.
If you'd like to experience the serene joy of cuddles and meditations, please feel free to get in touch and join us for our next session.
Namaste!
