OCHA (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) is part of the United Nations Secretariat. It supports mobilization, funding and coordination of humanitarian action, in response to complex emergencies and natural disasters. OCHA is also responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response. The effective coordination of humanitarian action in the field (UN agencies, NGOs, the Red Cross and Red Crescent) based on the humanitarian coordinator who has primary responsibility to support the national authorities. OCHA supports the Humanitarian Coordinator in carrying out its functions. OCHA (Bureau de la coordination des affaires humanitaires) fait partie du Secrétariat des Nations Unies. Il soutient la mobilisation, le financement et la coordination de l'action humanitaire, en réponse aux situations d'urgence complexes et aux catastrophes naturelles. OCHA est également chargée de rassembler les acteurs humanitaires afin d'assurer une réponse cohérente. La coordination efficace de l'action humanitaire (agences de l'ONU, des ONG, la Croix-Rouge et du Croissant-Rouge) est à la charge du Coordonnateur de l’action humanitaire qui vient en appuie aux autorités nationales. OCHA appuie le Coordonnateur de l’action humanitaire dans l'exercice de ses fonctions.
