Sant Resiklaj Jérémi promotes a clean and healthy environment in the area of Jérémie, Haiti, through the collection of recyclable materials.

Jeremie Recycling Center, or Sant Resiklaj Jeremi in Haitian Kreole, is the first recycling enterprise to open in Haiti west of Cayes, and the only such effort in the Grand Anse region of the country. As with all urban areas of Haiti, the proliferation of trash is a growing threat to the health and well-being of the population. Our objective and approach to this environmental problem is simple - o

ffer everyone in the Jeremie area the opportunity to make money through collecting recyclable material. After being purchased by SRJ, the materials are processed at our local facility and then shipped to larger companies within Haiti. Last week we sent our 6th shipment of plastic to Port au Prince and also began collection of aluminum cans. For almost all of our collectors, they now have an income where none previously existed - and the streets of Jeremie are slowly being cleaned. What's better than this?
