We are excited to invite you to our next painting workshop led by an Afghan artist, where art becomes a way to connect and to share Afghanistan’s stories and culture!

The workshop will take place on the 15.11.25 from 2 to 4pm in our office of Borders:None (Ul. Josipa Seissla 68, 10010, Zagreb). It is free of charge and all materials are provided!🎨

It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn from a talented artist, meet new people and use art as a way to tell stories and to learn more about Afghanistan.

Spaces are limited, so if you’re interested, text us on Whatsapp to reserve your spot.

We look forward to seeing you!🌞

It all started with a question: how can we show the beauty, culture, and resilience of Afghanistan in a different way? πŸ‡¦πŸ‡«

So, we decided to organise seven art and culture workshops in Zagreb. 🎨 These were led by an Afghan artist, Noor Mohammad Azizi and attended by people from Croatia and around the world.

They all came together to paint, share stories, and explore Afghanistan’s resilience, culture, and food. We received over 50 participations! 🫢🏼

The project came to a close with an exhibition at the Goethe-Institut Kroatien, where all the paintings were displayed. Each one told a small part of a bigger story!

Frames of Afghanistan: Art Beyond Borders was about challenging narratives and making space for connection through art and understanding.

Thanks to everyone who was part of it and to all those who supported the project - Goethe-Institut, Open Society Foundations, Goethe Institut Kroatien, K*K Zagreb and Zemarai Arya. 🀝

This project was funded by the Afghanistan Cultural Fund.

Yesterday we opened Frames of Afghanistan: Art Beyond Borders exhibition at the Goethe-Institut Zagreb! 🀍

This beautiful exhibition came to life through a series of art workshops led by a young Afghan artist, Noor Mohammad Azizi. People from Croatia and around the world joined in, painting stories of Afghanistan, its resilience, culture, and food. 🎨

Together, they created something truly special: a collection of artworks that share real stories and help people connect across cultures.

Special thanks to , Zemarai Arya, .hr, and all participants for their contributions in this project. ✨

The exhibition is free and open to everyone for self-guided visits until July 11, 2025, at Goethe-Institut Zagreb (Zadarska ul. 80).

Come by and see how art speaks in many ways. πŸ–ΌοΈ
