It was the idea of Riteh Racing Team members to bring the Formula Student world to Croatia and the region. Formula Student is a very important project for the academic community because the development of the car not only makes the Faculty of Engineering Rijeka more recognizable and well known, but also the University of Rijeka and the City of Rijeka is spreading among students in Croatia and the
world. In other words, we are doing the popularization of the university itself. Formula Student is a student competition that is held every year on several world race tracks during the July and August, and the aim of the competition itself is for the teams, from different universities around the world, to compete with their cars which they have designed and constructed. The competition isn’t won by the team with the fastest car, but the scoring is done in different ways, from static discipline to dynamic discipline. The team must develop a car for dynamic disciplines and introduce it to a hypothetical manufacturing company. The vehicle must be low cost, easy to maintain and reliable and with high performance in terms of acceleration, braking and handling. During the competition, the team must show the logic behind their proposal and must be able to show that it can support a viable business model for both sides.
