Grace Honduras Grace Honduras is a nonprofit organization founded in 2015, working with children and families living and working in the city landfill of San Pedro Sula.

Grace Honduras is a nonprofit organization serving children and families living in extreme poverty and working in the municipal landfill of San Pedro Sula, providing education, daily meals, and a safe space to grow beyond survival. In this community, many families rely on informal waste collection as their primary source of income. Children are often exposed to long working hours, limited access t

o education, and high-risk conditions, perpetuating cycles of poverty. Grace Honduras exists to interrupt that cycle. We operate a school located directly at the entrance of the landfill, providing consistent access to education, daily meals, and a safe environment for children who would otherwise be excluded from the formal system. Our work focuses on five areas:

Intellectual:
We serve 121 students (2026) from early childhood (Pre-K) through 9th grade, and provide flexible learning programs for adolescents and adults who have never attended school. Physical:
We support children’s health through daily nutrition and access to basic medical and dental care in partnership with local providers. Emotional:
We provide psychological and psycho-pedagogical support, including crisis intervention, individual and family counseling, and structured activities that strengthen self-esteem and reduce vulnerability to gang recruitment. Spiritual:
We teach values grounded in the gospel of Jesus Christ, fostering identity, purpose, and moral development. Family:
We work with families through housing support, legal identity processes (birth registration), and basic monthly assistance, aiming to strengthen long-term stability.

🌸💖 Yesterday at Grace Honduras, we celebrated the incredible mothers in our community with a very special Mother’s Day celebration. 💖🌸

Our children prepared beautiful performances filled with love — they sang, danced, prayed, and recited poems to honor the women who care for them every single day. 🥹✨

We also shared a special lunch together, enjoyed fun games and activities, and raffled 15 gift baskets for the moms. Seeing their smiles, laughter, and joy made this day truly unforgettable. 🌷🎁🎶

A huge thank you to Crescendo for helping make this celebration possible and for continuing to support the children and families of Grace Honduras. 🤍

Moments like these remind us that love, dignity, and community matter deeply. 🌸🫶🏻

Tiny hands, big love 💖🌸

As Mother’s Day approaches, our Pre-K children at Grace Honduras created special handmade photo frames for their moms — small gifts filled with love, gratitude, and precious memories 🖼️✨

For many of our children, these moments matter deeply.
Creating something beautiful for the person who loves and cares for them reminds them that love can be expressed, celebrated, and shared 💕

Behind every smile is a child learning the joy of connection, creativity, and family 🌈

Today wasn’t just about soccer ⚽💙
It was about watching our children laugh, run, compete and simply be children.
At Grace Honduras, we hosted a soccer tournament alongside Crescendo, creating a space where joy took center stage.

There were goals, cheers, teamwork… and plenty of shared snacks 🍎🥤
In the middle of challenging realities, moments like these are not small.

They are spaces of light, dignity, and restored childhood.

💧✨ Water is life and today, we are deeply grateful.

After a year without running water, something as basic as teaching, cooking, and caring for our children became a daily challenge. Every class, every meal, every activity required extra effort, coordination, and resilience.

Today, that changes. 🙏
Thanks to the generous support of Crescendo, we now have a new, larger water tank and pump system installed at Grace Honduras. This is not just infrastructure, its dignity, stability, and the ability to serve our children with consistency again. 💙

In addition, with the ongoing support of Aguas de San Pedro Sula, who will now provide water deliveries once a week, we have secured a sustainable mid-term solution to one of our biggest operational challenges. 🚰

This project represents more than access to water, it represents what is possible when people become friends and choose to care, to act, and to stand with communities like ours.

En Grace Honduras vemos todos los días que ser papá no es solo un título… es presencia, esfuerzo y compromiso silencioso.

Last week at Grace Honduras our students practiced writing, worked on math, explored colors, and strengthened their creativity. 🎨

Behind every worksheet, every pencil, and every classroom activity is a child building the foundation for a different future.✨️

For over a week, three of our teachers, Nadia, Ingrids and Jenifer, and Karen one of our sixth-grade students have been painting the entire school, classrooms by classroom and outdoors. 🎁🎁🎁
