As we finish our 2026 surgical campaigns, there is much thankfulness for each person who entrusted their care to us, and each who volunteered. The talents and resources donated are priceless, yet we know much remains to be done. Thank you to Dr Lloyd Williams and the Duke team for all of their efforts this week, curing blindness both physical and spiritual. Roatan, we will see you again in 2027! 🙏🏻

This week several patients with more complex needs have received the care they need. Thank you Dr. Williams and team, we love Duke Global!

Last week's team is safely home, reflecting back over the mission. Photos tell the story of the true value of each person's role, contribution, and impact. And a few more show the patients' responses to care received. Whether inside or outside of the clinic walls, God's love is shared and returned in ways that we cannot describe. May you feel His love today as well!

Today we did a few events in the community as an end to the week. First, vision screening at the dump. For the families who live there, medical care is mostly beyond their grasp. But we can tape an eye chart to a tree, and do some basic screening. Give them sunglasses, work gloves, and first aid kits to go with the lunch provided by a local church. For folks with poor vision, we will see them in clinic with future teams. A local church will help transport them there. God’s hands and feet.
Then we did vision care for a small group of ladies who support their family through sewing. We were so surprised to recognize family members of some of our surgical patients this week. So we bought a bag made by them to remember that special connection!
People helping people. So very blessed!

And that’s a wrap! The next team arrives on island on Saturday. Thanks everyone for an amazing and busy week!!

Another great day, serving people who have such need and yet even more gratitude. Tonight we said goodbye to Dr Benny and Stephanie Peña, new to our mission but now like family. The work continues, but they will be sorely missed 🙏🏻🏝️

What a joy it was to serve our multi-island Honduran friends in the clinic yesterday. From the opening sounds of Amazing Grace through the last patient seen, there was a beautiful spirit of teamwork and friendship. So proud of this team and all that they are doing.
Today we continue work in the clinic, and also in the community serving people where they live. Thank you Roatan for trusting us and allowing us to serve you well.

Sustainable care, always our focus. Dr Raju is performing the corneal transplants, while teaching local Honduran specialists. Planting a seed to watch care for the Honduran people continue to grow. Thank you to Dr Fajardo and family for their tireless service and giving to support the care. God is good, and so are these cornea recipients. 🙏🏻

The team has formed, the tissue obtained, and the patients selected. Please pray for Dr. Kang and Dr. Raju as they serve with Dr. Fajardo and his foundation in San Pedro Sula this weekend. Corneal transplant is a vitally needed service for Honduran citizens, and we are so blessed to be a part of the solution. May God touch and heal these patients under their hands.
