Casita Copán presente en espacios que generan cambio 🩵

La semana pasada participamos en el congreso ECOS, dirigido a estudiantes de psicología, donde tuvimos la oportunidad de compartir sobre la realidad de las casas hogar en Honduras.

Daysi Ramírez nuestra Directora de Desarrollo, compartió la ponencia “Más allá de los números: datos clave sobre la infancia en casas hogar hondureñas”, donde abordó no solo cifras, sino también las realidades, desafíos y necesidades que enfrentan los niños y niñas en estos espacios.

Este tipo de encuentros son fundamentales para motivar a futuros profesionales a involucrarse en áreas como la psicología social, donde aún existe una gran necesidad de apoyo especializado.

Además, seguimos fortaleciendo nuestro conocimiento y creando conexiones con profesionales que pueden aportar al bienestar de la niñez. 🥰

Last week, we participated in the ECOS conference, aimed at psychology students, where we had the opportunity to share insights on the reality of children’s homes in Honduras.

Daysi Ramírez, our Development Director, presented the talk “Beyond the Numbers: Key Data on Children in Honduran Residential Care Homes,” where she addressed not only statistics, but also the realities, challenges, and needs faced by children living in these environments.

These types of spaces are essential to inspire future professionals to engage in fields such as social psychology, where there is still a significant need for specialized support.

In addition, we continue to strengthen our knowledge and build connections with professionals who can contribute to the well-being of children 🥰

We remain committed to creating more opportunities, care, and hope for children ✨

Our children enjoyed a day out at the fields, where they could play, share, and create moments full of joy.

Because we also believe in the importance of these spaces, where they can have fun, be kids, and continue growing surrounded by friendship and happiness. ✨

Nuestros niños disfrutaron de una salida a las canchas, donde pudieron jugar, compartir y crear momentos llenos de alegría.

This is how we experienced Holy Week at Casita Copán 🩵✨

It was a time full of creativity, joy, and moments that will stay in our hearts. The children painted stones, cut mangoes, enjoyed movie afternoons, and happily celebrated Yefri’s birthday. 🎨🥭🎂

Each activity was an opportunity to share, laugh, and create special memories.

Over the past two years, Casita Copán has carried out several donation campaigns where members of our community have generously shared clothing, household items, school supplies, and toys. 🩵

Many of these donations have been incredibly helpful for the children we serve. However, we also receive clothing for adults that we are not always able to use within our program, since most of the people we support are children.

For this reason, we carefully collect all clothing that is in good condition but not needed at Casita Copán and share it with a partner organization located at the entrance of Copán called ComFehn, which mainly supports widows and orphaned children.

In this video, you can see the people served by this organization selecting clothing to take home.

We firmly believe that solidarity grows when it is shared, and that every donation can continue making a difference in more lives within our community✨

En los últimos dos años, Casita Copán ha realizado diversas campañas de donación donde muchas personas de la comunidad han compartido con generosidad ropa, utensilios, útiles escolares y juguetes. 🩵

Gran parte de estas donaciones han sido de gran ayuda para los niños a quienes servimos. Sin embargo, también recibimos ropa para adultos que, en muchos casos, no podemos utilizar dentro de nuestro programa, ya que la mayoría de las personas a quienes apoyamos son niños.

Por eso, seleccionamos cuidadosamente toda la ropa que se encuentra en buen estado y la compartimos con una organización amiga ubicada en la entrada de Copán llamada COMFEH, que brinda apoyo principalmente a viudas y niños huérfanos.

En este video pueden ver a las personas beneficiarias de esta organización seleccionando ropa para llevar a sus hogares.

Creemos firmemente que la solidaridad se multiplica cuando se comparte, y que cada donación puede seguir haciendo la diferencia en más vidas dentro de nuestra comunidad✨

Last Thursday, March 5 and Friday, March 6, we experienced two very special days with our medical brigade, dedicated to the care and well-being of our children and community. 🩺🩵

During these days, many people received medical attention, check-ups, and the support needed to take care of their health. Small actions that can make a big difference in their present and their future.

We are deeply grateful to all the people and professionals who made this brigade possible, especially Towson Presbyterian Church, for their support and commitment to the well-being of our community.

Thank you for helping us continue building a space of care, love, and opportunity. ✨

El pasado jueves 5 y viernes 6 de marzo, vivimos dos jornadas muy especiales con nuestra brigada médica, dedicadas al cuidado y bienestar de nuestros niños y comunidad. 🩺🩵

Durante estos días, muchas personas recibieron atención médica, revisiones y el acompañamiento necesario para cuidar su salud. Pequeñas acciones que pueden marcar una gran diferencia en su presente y en su futuro.

Agradecemos profundamente a todas las personas y profesionales que hicieron posible esta brigada, especialmente a Towson Presbyterian Church, por su apoyo y compromiso con el bienestar de nuestra comunidad.

Hoy, 8 de marzo, conmemoramos el Día Internacional de la Mujer.

Recordamos a todas las mujeres que han luchado para abrir camino, a las que hoy siguen alzando la voz y también a las niñas que merecen crecer en un mundo con más oportunidades, justicia y dignidad.

Este día nos invita a reflexionar sobre todo lo que aún falta por lograr en materia de derechos para mujeres y niñas. Pero también nos recuerda que cada paso adelante ha sido posible gracias a la fuerza, la valentía y la esperanza de muchas mujeres.

En Casita Copán creemos profundamente en el poder de las mujeres para transformar sus vidas y las de sus familias. Por eso trabajamos cada día para que las mujeres a quienes servimos tengan salarios dignos, acceso a atención médica y un espacio seguro, donde sus hijos e hijas puedan crecer protegidos, amados y sin miedo.

Hoy honramos sus historias, su esfuerzo y su capacidad de salir adelante.
Y reafirmamos nuestro compromiso de seguir caminando a su lado.
