I am deeply grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in the University Scholars Leadership Symposium (USLS) 2025, organized by Humanitarian Affairs Asia (in association with the United Nations), held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This symposium has been nothing short of transformative — bringing together youth leaders from over 40 countries, united by a common vision: to lead meaningful change for a better world. 🌏
Throughout the week, I had the privilege of:
🔹 Learning from distinguished speakers such as Jeff Rotmeyer, Founder of ImpactHK, and Felipe Queipo, Communications Officer at the UN Department of Global Communications.🌏 Their journeys showed us that leadership can take many forms — from building schools for children with little access to education, to protecting endangered species on the brink of extinction.
✨ But the most important lesson I carried with me is this: true leadership always starts from the heart. The speakers reminded us that great leaders are not defined by power, titles, or results — they are defined by care. They care for people. They care for the vulnerable. They care enough to want to change the world for the better. 🌍💙
Leadership begins with simple but powerful actions:
🌟 Care enough to listen
🌟 Care enough to learn
🌟 Care enough to take action
This, more than anything else, is what makes change possible. 🌟
🔹 Building invaluable global connections with passionate, driven peers who inspired me every single day. Together, we discovered that leadership is not about authority, but about compassion and courage to act.🇭🇰🇬🇧🇸🇬🇲🇾🇦🇺🇺🇸
🔹 Engaging in meaningful community service, including planting over 1,000 mangroves at Kuala Selangor Nature Park. Though messy (yes, covered in mud from head to toe! 😅), this hands-on experience was deeply rewarding. Mangroves are powerful climate guardians — storing carbon, protecting coastlines, and supporting biodiversity — yet they are under constant threat. Being part of this contribution was both humbling and empowering. 🌱🌊
I am sincerely thankful to Humanitarian Affairs Asia for crafting such a profound and inspiring platform, where the passion and energy of youth shine not just on stage, but in real action. My heartfelt appreciation also goes out to The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong for their generous sponsorship and support, making my participation possible. 🙏📚
This journey has filled me with hope and reinforced my commitment to leading change with compassion, courage, and care. Here’s to turning the inspiration from USLS into real action for a better tomorrow. 🚀✨
