Digital Citizenship Starts Young – A Seminar Review
Tai Kok Tsui Catholic Primary School (Hoi Fan Road) recently invited **Mr. Wilson Ng (伍智峰), an IT and AI professional from our organisation, ChariTechie, to hold and present a seminar for students from Primary 1 to 6. The seminar focused on digital literacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.

Mr. Ng explained these topics in simple, everyday language that young learners could easily understand. The session covered three main areas. With AI and online information growing rapidly, teaching children to use technology wisely is now a key educational priority. Recently, Shak Chung Shan Memorial Catholic Primary School invited IT and AI expert Wilson Ng to give a P5–P6 lecture on “Information Literacy, Cybersecurity, and AI Concepts and Applications.”

Ng began with relatable questions like “Have you used YouTube or DeepSeek?” and “Received strange messages?” quickly connecting with students. His friendly style used real-life examples and simple metaphors, keeping students engaged and eager to ask questions.

The lecture had three parts:
1. Information Literacy – how to verify sources, check dates, spot sensational headlines. Key principle: “Don’t believe everything you see at first glance.”
2. Cybersecurity – protecting personal privacy, managing passwords, avoiding unknown links, recognizing scams. Rules apply online just as in the real world.
3. AI Concepts – AI is not magic but a tool learning from data and algorithms. Examples: voice assistants, image recognition, learning software. Students also discussed AI’s limits and ethical issues.

Enhancing Digital Literacy, Mastering the Future of AI — A Recap of the CUHK School of Biomedical Sciences Seminar

AI is transforming every industry. To equip future healthcare professionals, the CUHK Faculty of Medicine invited IT and AI expert Mr. Wilson Ng for a seminar on digital literacy, cybersecurity, and AI. Over 30 students and faculty attended.

How do we teach children to tell truth from falsehood online and embrace AI? This question was answered in a seminar at Kwun Tong Government Primary School (Sau Ming Road) for Primary 4–6 students. The school invited Mr. Wilson Ng, a volunteer from ChariTechie and IT/AI expert, to share practical knowledge on "Information Literacy, Cyber Security, AI Concepts and Applications" with nearly 400 students. The hour-long seminar was lively and successfully connected professional content with young learners.
