Digital Citizenship Starts Young – A Seminar Review
Tai Kok Tsui Catholic Primary School (Hoi Fan Road) recently invited **Mr. Wilson Ng (伍智峰), an IT and AI professional from our organisation, ChariTechie, to hold and present a seminar for students from Primary 1 to 6. The seminar focused on digital literacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
Mr. Ng explained these topics in simple, everyday language that young learners could easily understand. The session covered three main areas. First, digital literacy: students learned how to tell real information from fake news online and why fact-checking matters. Second, cybersecurity: Mr. Ng shared practical tips on password safety, protecting personal data, and avoiding suspicious links. Third, AI concepts and applications: using examples like voice assistants and image recognition, he showed how AI is already part of daily life, while reminding students to think independently and not rely too much on technology.
The session was interactive and engaging. Teachers later noted that students showed greater interest in AI and became more aware of their online behaviour. The seminar successfully combined knowledge with values, helping young students become responsible digital citizens.
If your school or organisation is interested in similar seminars on digital literacy, cybersecurity, or AI delivered by ChariTechie's professionals, please feel free to reach out.
