Event Review: TWGHs Wong Fung Ling College’s 3rd “Fung Ling Cultural Festival” – A Digital Transformation Success
Held in early July 2026, the annual summer carnival organized by TWGHs Wong Fung Ling College transformed the campus into a vibrant multicultural hub. Students, parents, and alumni participated through creative booths, interactive experiences, and stage performances, showcasing youthful energy and cultural fusion. The highlight of this year’s event was the full adoption of an electronic payment software system built and provided by ChariTechie, replacing the traditional printed “money coupons” used in previous editions.
The new system enabled seamless, cashless transactions at all booths for food, goods, and services. Participants reported a smooth and convenient experience, while booth operators appreciated the elimination of manual coupon counting and change handling. Most importantly, the system allowed real-time monitoring of every transaction through a central dashboard. Organizers could track sales performance instantly, and at the end of the festival, final results – including winners of “Best Booth” awards – were generated automatically within seconds. This was a major leap from past events, which required hours of manual tallying by staff and volunteers, often delaying results and increasing the risk of errors.
The benefits extend beyond convenience. By digitizing payments, the school saved significant time, labour, and printing costs. Freed from tedious administrative tasks, teachers and students could focus on enhancing visitor experience and creative activities. The data collected also provides valuable insights for future planning, enabling better resource allocation and decision-making. The system’s modular design means it can be easily adapted for other school events such as open days, fundraisers, and extracurricular fee collections.
The 3rd Cultural Festival was not only a celebration of culture but also a successful pilot of educational technology innovation. It demonstrates how smart IT solutions can streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enrich campus life. For schools interested in adopting similar systems, the organisers welcome inquiries and are happy to share their experience. This digital milestone sets a new standard for future school events, promising even more engaging, efficient, and data‑driven activities ahead.
