碳核算分为3个"范围"：

🌍 ESG Cold Knowledge: The 70-90% Invisible Carbon Footprint

Did you know most companies only track 10-30% of their actual carbon emissions?

Here's why:

Carbon accounting has 3 "Scopes":
→ Scope 1: Your direct emissions (company cars, factories)
→ Scope 2: Your energy bills (electricity, heating)
→ Scope 3: Everything else in your value chain

The shocking part? Scope 3 is usually 70-90% of your total footprint.

For SMEs, this means:
✓ Your suppliers' manufacturing
✓ Product shipping & logistics
✓ How customers use your product
✓ End-of-life disposal

Example: A coffee shop's Scope 3 includes coffee bean farming, transportation, milk production, cup manufacturing, and waste management—far exceeding the emissions from running the espresso machine.

The challenge: Scope 3 is the hardest to measure and mostly voluntary to report.

The opportunity:Understanding your full value chain emissions helps you make smarter business decisions, reduce costs, and meet growing customer expectations.

Banking Sustainable Disclosure and Climate Financial Impact Management Workshop Was Successfully Held in Beijing 🌍🏦

Amid global financial regulators strengthening climate and sustainability risk management, banks face tougher disclosure and risk-management requirements. To help mainland listed banks better address related risks and opportunities, prepare climate-related financial disclosures to meet HKEX and A-share regulatory requirements, and boost investor confidence, the "Banking Sustainable Disclosure and Climate Financial Impact Management Workshop" hosted by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency and organized by China Construction Bank was successfully held last Thursday, March 12, at the China Construction Bank Tower in Beijing.

Nearly 70 representatives from the banking and financial sectors participated, engaging in in-depth exchanges on sustainable disclosure regulatory trends, climate-related financial impacts, challenges in managing financed emissions (Scope 3), related calculation methods, and the application of digital tools.

Participants experienced HKQAA’s digital Scope 3 greenhouse gas estimation tool and scenario-analysis tool on-site to improve data processing and disclosure efficiency.

The successful workshop not only deepened cooperation between HKQAA and China Construction Bank, but also provided mainland listed banks with methodological guidance and tool support to meet sustainable disclosure regulations and enhance climate-related financial impact analysis, contributing to the development of the national sustainable disclosure framework.

Sustainable disclosure for high-quality corporate development — event recap 🌱🤝

This Wednesday, 11 March 2026, HKQAA, in partnership with the Belt and Road Green Development International Alliance, successfully hosted the sharing workshop “Sustainable Disclosure for High-Quality Corporate Development”. The event gathered professionals, enterprises and sector representatives from Mainland China and Hong Kong to discuss leading topics in sustainable disclosure.

The sharing workshop aimed to align with national and Hong Kong SAR disclosure policy directions, promote Mainland–Hong Kong exchange in sustainable disclosure practices, and support enterprises’ high-quality, green transformation. Speakers addressed international and regional disclosure standards developments, practical corporate disclosure challenges, and digital approaches to improving disclosure quality and efficiency.

In focused sessions, HKQAA presented an overview of international and regional sustainable disclosure standards and explored corporate disclosure challenges and digital solution pathways; demonstrated digital tools for sustainable disclosure and practical applications. During the open discussion, participants exchanged insights on disclosure practices, data governance, assurance and comparability, offering practical recommendations and lessons learned.

HKQAA, as an early advocate for sustainability, continues to align with national and SAR policies to promote high-quality business development. This joint Beijing forum with the Belt and Road Green Development International Alliance underscores deep collaboration on disclosure practice and capacity building. Going forward, HKQAA will deepen exchanges and cooperation in sustainability, support the development of national disclosure frameworks, and contribute to achieving China’s dual‑carbon goals for a greener future.

可持续信息披露助力企业高质量发展交流活动在京圆满举行 🌱🤝

本週三（2026年3月11日），香港品质保证局联合“一带一路”绿色发展国际联盟，于北京市西城区环境国际公约履约大楼成功举办“可持续信息披露助力企业高质量发展交流活动”。当日活动荣幸邀请到国家生态环境部综合司副处长郭苑女士、香港特别行政区驻北京办事处署理主任袁嘉诺先生、“一带一路”绿色发展国际联盟秘书长陈刚先生、国际财务报告准则基金会北京办公室主任张敏文女士等出席并致辞。活动汇聚来自内地与香港的专业机构、企业及业界代表，围绕可持续信息披露前沿课题展开深入交流与探讨。

此次交流活动旨在配合国家及香港特区的可持续披露政策方向，推动两地在可持续信息披露领域的经验分享与协同实践，助力企业实现高质量发展与绿色转型。与会嘉宾就国际与区域可持续信息披露准则的最新进展、企业在披露实践中面临的挑战、以及数字化工具如何提升披露效率与质量等议题进行了系统分享。

在主题分享环节，香港品质保证局高级项目经理邓绮华女士分别就“国际与区域可持续信息披露准则概览”及“企业可持续信息披露挑战与数字化解决路径”作了深入讲解；项目经理许惠莲女士演示并介绍了可持续信息披露的数字化工具及其实操应用。其后的自由讨论环节，与会嘉宾围绕披露实践、数据治理、核证与可比性问题等展开热烈讨论，分享了大量实务经验与建设性建议。

香港品质保证局作为推动可持续发展的先驱之一，长期致力于配合国家与特区政府政策，推动商界高质量发展。本次交流活动体现了双方在可持续信息披露实践与能力建设方面的深度合作。未来，本局将继续深化在可持续发展领域的交流协作，支持国家可持续披露体系建设，助力双碳目标实现，共同推动绿色低碳转型，创造更美好的绿色未来。
