RDA was founded in 1975 by Lady MacLehose, wife of the former Governor of Hong Kong, Sir Murray MacLehose. RDA is the only non-profit organisation in Hong Kong dedicated to the provision of riding tuition and therapeutic benefits for adults and children with all kinds of disabilities, ranging from Down’s Syndrome to Cerebral Palsy and Blindness to Autism. All RDA lessons are provided free of charge. The riding itself is widely recognized as providing certain benefits, which include self-confidence, balance and coordination. Currently, RDA operates over 6,000 rides annually at 3 different service centres located in Pok Fu Lam, Tuen Mun and Sheung Shui.
香港傷健策騎協會於一九七五年由當時的港督夫人麥理浩夫人創辦。是香港唯一一所提供策騎課程予傷健人士的慈善團體，所有課程均免費提供，並不收取任何費用。服務旨在善用馬匹及小馬，教導精神上或身體上有障礙的人士：例如唐氏綜合症、大腦性麻痺、眼疾、自閉症等等患者提供策騎課程，使其自信增強，更能改善協調及平衡力。 時至今日，香港傷健策騎協會已擴展3間騎術中心：薄扶林、屯門及上水，每年為有需要人士提供超過六千次的策騎機會。
