「走進輕鐵車廠 ‧ 探索無障礙交通新體驗」
為了讓學生更深入認識香港公共交通的運作及無障礙設施，學生與家長一同參觀港鐵輕鐵車廠，了解輕鐵的日常運作，並親身體驗港鐵接駁巴士的無障礙設施，認識科技如何協助視障人士更安全、便利及獨立地出行。
是次參觀的一大亮點，是學生與家長親身體驗設有定向廣播系統的港鐵接駁巴士。
目前港鐵共有 5 輛接駁巴士配備定向廣播系統，日後將逐步擴展至所有港鐵接駁巴士。當巴士停站並打開車門時，系統便會透過導向性喇叭，以三語（廣東話、英語及普通話）廣播巴士編號及路線資訊，協助視障人士辨識巴士。
導向性喇叭能將聲音集中傳送至指定範圍，方便有需要的乘客接收資訊，同時減少對其他乘客的影響，展現無障礙設計的細心與周全。
透過是次參觀，學生與家長加深了對無障礙交通設施的認識。有家長表示，這項貼心設計不但方便視障人士出行，更讓人感受到社區對視障人士的關愛與支持。
“Entering the Light Rail Depot · Exploring a New Barrier-free Transport Experience”
To help students gain a deeper understanding of Hong Kong’s public transport operations and barrier-free facilities, students and parents visited the MTR Light Rail Depot. They learned about the daily operation of the Light Rail and experienced the barrier-free facilities of the MTR Feeder Bus, while also learning how technology can support people with visual impairment in travelling more safely, conveniently and independently.
One of the highlights of the visit was experiencing an MTR Feeder Bus equipped with a directional audio announcement system.
Currently, five MTR Feeder Buses are equipped with this system, and it will be gradually extended to all MTR Feeder Buses in the future. When the bus stops and the doors open, the system broadcasts the bus number and route information in Cantonese, English and Putonghua through directional speakers, helping people with visual impairment identify the bus more easily.
The directional speakers transmit sound to a designated area, allowing passengers in need to receive relevant information while reducing the impact on other passengers. This demonstrates the thoughtfulness and comprehensiveness of barrier-free design.
Through this visit, students and parents deepened their understanding of barrier-free transport facilities. A parent shared that this thoughtful design not only makes travelling easier for people with visual impairment, but also reflects the community’s care and support for them.
