🎉 This year, 10 of our Form 6 graduates have been awarded The Hang Lung Scholarship and Development Donation for the Visually Impaired (2026-27).
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hang Lung for its longstanding support of students with visual impairment, empowering them to pursue their aspirations, develop their talents and embrace new opportunities.
Among this year’s awardees, CHENG TSZ IN, ZHENG ZI and FONG HEI MAN have demonstrated particularly outstanding performance. Through dedication and perseverance, they have developed clear aspirations in Law, Financial Technology and Music, showcasing the talents, resilience and limitless potential of young people with visual impairment.
CHENG TSZ IN achieved an outstanding result of Level 5** in six subjects in the 2026 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination, making him one of this year’s top scorers. His achievement is a testament to his academic excellence, determination and perseverance.
Besides, ZHENG ZI has overcome the challenges brought by visual impairment through determination and hard work, earning admission to the Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Financial Technology programme at The University of Hong Kong. Earlier, he also developed an OCR-based Braille-to-text conversion programme, which converts Braille content into text, facilitates communication between sighted and visually impaired communities, and contributes to building a more accessible and inclusive society.
The achievements of every student show that, with the right support and opportunities, people with visual impairment can thrive, pursue their dreams and make meaningful contributions in different fields.
Behind them lies Ebenezer’s lifelong commitment of “Nurturing PRIDE” for our students. The 3 students have grown up under Ebenezer’s education since childhood and participated together in the "Project WORKS" pre-employment training program. Looking back at their growth, CHENG TSZ IN benefited from our Early Intervention Programme for Visually Impaired Children (EIP) during early childhood, while CHENG TSZ and FONG HEI MAN attended the Ebenezer Child Care Centre. Moving into primary and secondary education, CHENG TSZ IN and CHENG TSZ were supported throughout their schooling from Primary 1 to Secondary 6 by the Resource Support Programme (RSP). FONG HEI MAN, on the other hand, studied at Ebenezer School from Primary 1 to Secondary 2, and transitioned to receiving continuous support under the RSP from Secondary 3 onwards. With a deep passion for the arts, HEI MAN has also accumulated rich performance experience under the dedicated cultivation of the Ebenezer Music Academy (EMA). From early childhood seedlings to youth spreading their wings, Ebenezer’s educational, employment, and music training initiatives have walked hand in hand with their growth — a powerful testament to the journey of lives impacting lives.
Our sincere thanks once again to Hang Lung for establishing The Hang Lung Scholarship and Development Donation for the Visually Impaired. This recognition not only brings great encouragement to our students, but also creates more opportunities for their learning and personal development.
We wish all award recipients every success as they continue their studies and embark on the next chapter of their lives.
