Dear all Raleigians,
We are deeply saddened to learn that Raleigh International Trust ceases operation from 20th May 2022. I am sure you will join me in understanding the difficult circumstances that Raleigh International has been facing in the UK. The latest update and more information are at https://raleighinternational.org.
We are now in discussion with Raleigh International on arrangements and anything that may affect us in Hong Kong.
At this time, Raleigh International related overseas expeditions are cancelled. We are contacting other alumni and possible partners to look for reputable and safe expedition opportunities for Hong Kong youth.
Raleigh Hong Kong (and other alumni in various countries), however, is an independent entity from Raleigh International, we continue in operating. We are a registered charity run by a voluntary committee that comprises ex-Venturers. More than 200 Venturers have taken part in overseas Raleigh Expeditions to make a difference to the world. More than 30,000 volunteers have participated and benefited from Raleigh’s activity. We continue to operate our local programmes and look at alternative overseas programme opportunities run by other alumni or other partners to meet the needs of Hong Kong young people, our volunteers and association members.
More details into this matter will be given during our Annual General Meeting on 25th June 2022 as we hear more. Our commitment to development opportunities for HK youth continues. Thank you once again for your support all along.
