Visionary Horizons: Shaping the Future of Fashion 🎤

The gala was more than a celebration— this was a moment for real conversation. Industry leaders came together at the WWD Fashion Loves Culture Gala to talk ideas, ambition, and what’s next for fashion in Hong Kong. Guest of Honour Mr. Raistlin Lau, JP, kicked off the night by highlighting the Government’s ongoing support for the city’s creative industries.

“Hong Kong has long stood at the intersection of craftsmanship and commerce,” said Amanda Smith, Chief Executive Officer, Fairchild Media Group. “We are thrilled to expand our global footprint with an event supported by CCIDA and HKFC that convenes leaders driving fashion’s future through innovation, sustainability, and crossmarket collaboration.”

A Cultural Symphony: Where Heritage Meets Future🥁🎹

The evening’s performance was a vivid reflection of Hong Kong’s "East-Meets-West" soul. Ha Kwok Cheung Dragon & Lion Dance thundered onto the stage alongside GEKKO , creating an electric cross-cultural moment. This unique fusion of traditional lion dance, thumping taiko drumming, and hip-hop energy breathed modern life into classic heritage.

The artistic narrative reached a crescendo between courses as celebrated pianist Rachel Cheung and cellist Trey Lee .treylee performed an exquisite duet. It was a perfect harmonic convergence of tradition and innovation—a true celebration of the city’s world-class artistry.

【WWD x SJ Global Fashion and Business Conference】

“You don’t need to be sexy just to please someone. You want to be sexy because you like freedom.”

At the WWD x SJ Global Fashion and Business Conference, Fausto Puglisi redefined modern glamour: it’s no longer about the male gaze, but about confidence and independence.

For Puglisi, this inspiration comes from the streets, not an ivory tower. During his visit to Hong Kong, he skipped the private car for the subway to connect with real people.

“I wanted to see the faces and the way they dress up... What is important for a designer is to understand the people,” he emphasised that “Pop Culture” essentially means “Popular”—something that people can truly understand.
