In Cameroon, the decade-long Anglophone conflict has forced many schools to close. The futures of 700,000 children have been put in jeopardy.
At our partner’s school there, students were forced to share tattered textbooks, while teachers lacked even the most basic teaching resources. Learning was a struggle every single day and students constantly fell behind.
This recent shipment contained many textbooks, stationery, and other supplies. School manager Mpanga Patrick told us that the lives of his students have been transformed. They each have their own books now and they finally have a functional library during break times. “Classroom participation has doubled,” Mpanga reported. “This is giving our children a fairer chance at a better future.”
