Our EMPOWER participants have been busy this September! Next stop: the Sophia Financial Confidence Summit, an evening dedicated to helping women feel more confident talking about, understanding, and taking action on their finances.

Under the theme, Money Confidence at Every Stage, the evening explored everything from health and wealth to retirement, designing the life you want, and the growing role of AI in investing.

Financial confidence is such an important part of independence and creating choices for the future, so we love seeing our participants in spaces where they can not only contribute, but listen, learn, ask questions, and build their networks along the way.

We were delighted to be part of ReThink HK 2026 with The Toiletries Project. As Hong Kong’s leading sustainable business event, ReThink brings together businesses, NGOs, and changemakers to share ideas and explore practical ways to create a more sustainable future.

For The Toiletries Project, sustainability and social impact go hand in hand. By collecting unused toiletries and redistributing them through our charity partners, we’re able to reduce unnecessary waste while getting essential hygiene products to people who need them across Hong Kong.

And there was another reason ReThink felt particularly special this year: Empower by The Amber Foundation was very well represented! 🧡

This is what Empower by The Amber Foundation in action looks like. 🧡

At this year’s Ethnically Diverse Youth Leadership Summit, hosted by The Zubin Foundation 小彬紀念基金會 , we were incredibly proud to see five members of our EMPOWER community not just attending, but actively helping to shape the day.

The Summit brought together more than 300 participants, speakers, and experts, creating a space for ethnically diverse young people in Hong Kong to talk openly about leadership, identity, opportunities, challenges, and their aspirations for the future.

Our EMPOWER community was right there amongst them.
🧡 Alumnae Bryne Pacis and Chioma Sylva took to the stage as speakers, sharing their own experiences and perspectives with the next generation of young people.
🧡 Karina Limbu, Cohort 9, Punam Limbu, Cohort 9, and Moira Toledo, Cohort 8, were part of the Summit’s Youth Committee, helping to give young people a voice in shaping the event itself.

For us at The Amber Foundation, these are particularly special moments. EMPOWER is about much more than what happens during a cohort. It’s about building confidence, connections, and opportunities that our participants can take forward with them and seeing our alumnae step up, speak out, and create opportunities for others is exactly the kind of ripple effect we hope for.

Bryne, Chioma, Karina, Punam, and Moira: we are very proud to see you representing your communities, sharing your voices, and helping other young people in Hong Kong see what is possible. 🧡

Business travel often leaves companies with an overlooked opportunity: airline toiletry pouches that are used once, brought home, and then left sitting unused.

At The Toiletries Project by The Amber Foundation, we can put them to good use. We’re looking for donations of clean airline and hotel toiletry pouches that we can repurpose when preparing and distributing essential toiletries to people in need across Hong Kong.

If your company has employees who travel regularly, why not organise a simple office collection? It’s an easy way to turn something you no longer need into something genuinely useful.

Peace starts closer to home than we sometimes think.

Because peace isn’t only about the absence of conflict. It is also about creating communities where people feel safe, valued, included and given the opportunity to thrive.

At The Amber Foundation, we see the power of everyday action through the work we do in Hong Kong.

Through The Toiletries Project, we help provide essential personal care items to people facing difficult circumstances, supporting dignity and care when it matters most.

Through EMPOWER, we help ethnically diverse young women build professional networks, confidence and opportunities, while working to overcome racial barriers and inequality.

Different programmes. One shared belief: a more inclusive and compassionate community is built through the actions we take every day.

Earlier this month we donated toiletries to our Charity Partner, Union Church, who used them to help prepare 300 gift packs for the Yau Ma Tei community. The packs were distributed through Praxis to elderly and homeless members of the community at an outreach event, with some also delivered directly to elderly people in their homes.

It’s wonderful to see donated items reaching people where they are needed and being put to such good use. A big thank you to Union Church, Praxis, and everyone involved in preparing and distributing the packs.

This small authentic cheese and delicacies shop in Sai Kung offers European cheeses, wine-and-cheese pairing workshops.

Having businesses across Hong Kong open their doors to collect toiletries makes it so much easier for our community to donate, and helps us get these items to those who need them.

Frequent business travel can leave you with a growing collection of hotel or airline toiletry pouches: used once, brought home, and then left sitting in a drawer or cupboard.

At The Toiletries Project by The Amber Foundation, we can give them a useful second life. We’re looking for donations of clean hotel and airline toiletry pouches that we can repurpose when packing and distributing essential toiletries to people in need across Hong Kong.

So, before they pile up at home, why not save them after your next trip and drop them off at one of our official collection points? Any unused travel-sized toiletries can be donated at the same time.
